Khmer Krom Network
While majority of Khmer Krom people are poor in the Mekong Delta of current Vietnam, those who are a little well off are finding themselves targeted as Vietnam authorities forbid their access to information and media.
According to a disturbing report from Kampuchea-Krom, the Vietnamese authorities from Swai Ton (renamed Tri Ton) District have taken steps to take down satellite disks from the few Khmer Krom families who have access to one.
It appears that such action has only been targeted towards the Khmer Krom people.
Such acts clearly show that Vietnam authorities continue to implement discriminatory policies against the Khmer Krom people, which heavily violate their right to freely access information and media.
