Important civil society representatives and a number of people Tuesday appeal for the opposition Sam Rainsy party (SRP) and Cambodia Center for Human Rights (CCHR) end their conflict and warn that if the two sides continue their dispute this might have an impact on democracy in Cambodia.
Mr. Koul Panha, director of Cambodian election monitoring group Comfrel is surprised when he heard that SRP and CCHR have a conflict, saying that this will have some impact on democracy.
He pushes the leaders of the two sides to discuss things and find a solution to end their dispute. The two leaders are considered to be democratic advocates.
The SRP and the CCHR led by Mr. Kem Sokha were seen as having conflicts as work partners in recent times, after opposition SRP boycotts the CCHR's public forums because some SRP officials were unhappy about the CCHR's officials' criticisms.
Another election monitoring group's executive director Hang Puthea of Nicfec, says that the two sides are plainly in conflict, and he is afraid that democracy in Cambodia will meet with difficulty.

What it comes down to is pure politic. I personally like to see and strongly urge him to leave the right and return to politic. It is good...
If the Cambodian democrats are fighting each others, then the Cambodian communists (CPP) are achieving great success. Hun Sen is succeeding big time on "Divide and Conquer" of the democrats. You and I have witnessed the division of Rannaridh's camp and Sam Rainsy's camp (the socalled democrats). Now I am hearing SRP and CCHR. This is such as non sense and bad planning on democrats. Please wake up and smell the smoke before we set ourselves on fire!!!UNITED WE STAND FOR JEAT KHMER! KK4ever!
Well, the prince did not know and believe in democracy in the first place anyhow. It is time to try out with new partner. It the plan is functional and the demoncratic process is adapted... As a result, it is great... What if the plan does not work... then the ruling side is getting stronger and stronger...
I really urge both parties, CCHR and SRP, to shake hand and work together. If CCHR's stance is not to have its own party, please be more flexible and begin to talk with SRP about the time constraint and some other points. But if CCHR is not willing to talk about the mentioned points, there must be something behind the act.
