(dpa) - China will push for Cambodia's accession to Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), according to a Cambodian government full report of talks between Prime Minister Hun Sen and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, which ended Saturday.

The Cambodian government released the additional information in a statement released Sunday and received Monday following the state visit by Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, which ended Saturday.

Cambodia has increasingly looked to Asia for investment after struggling to attract Western foreign investors, but is expected to begin full scale production of offshore oil and gas deposits within a year - something the government hopes will boost an inflation-ridden economy hitherto totally dependent on oil imports.
China and Cambodia also pledged to assist each other in trade and investment in the WTO, East Asia and Latin America, the statement said.
Wen Jiabao pledged 600 million dollars in Chinese aid to Cambodia during his visit.
