Prime Minister Hun Sen on Monday blasts U.S. congressman Dana Rohrabacher’s suggestion that he should retire from politics.
The comment was leaked to the Cambodian Prime Minister by the National Assembly’s first president Nguon Nhel, who is currently visiting Washington DC, the capitol of the United States.
In response, Hun Sen announced publicly at Phoumin University that he would only consider retiring from politics, when the people of Cambodia vote to remove him from power.
SRP’s leader Sam Rainsy says that there are many potential leaders in Cambodia who have better qualifications than Prime Minister Hun Sen.
Muth Chantha, Norodom Ranariddh party spokesman says that under the current PM’s leadership, Cambodia has faced many problems including, poverty, corruption, unfair judicial systems, and land conflicts. He also said the Cambodian people could have a voice and that is through their votes.
Dana Rohrabacher, who is currently representing California's 46th congressional district, has opposed to Prime Minister Hun Sen’s leadership since 1997.

Viet Nam needs US more than Hun Sen for now.
If US really wants to play tough all it has to do is to put more pressure on Viet Nam in order to flush down Hun Sen to mekong river like it did to Pen Sovann. Surely it will happen.

hey, i agreed chhim watt koh. the u.s should put some pressure on viet nam over hun sen removal. but i don't think the viet is going to do it b/c it benefits from hun sen ruling.
i personally think it's time for hun sen to go too. i hope he will leave on his own term. so let others who also loves cambodia a chance to run cambodia. it is enough time for hun sen. most leaders in this world would resign with this amount of time but for hun sen it is still not enough. either he will go with grace or he will go with disgrace; that is his decision. cambodia do not afraid to remove him but cambodia afraid he would use violence against his own people. he does not value lives.
mr. dana rohrabacher's suggestion is very powerful from the free world. he is not cambodian but he is sticking his neck for the cambodian's cuase. we are very appreciative of him. our simple wish is for our people to enjoy freedom , democracy and development like any other country in this world. and we want to be proud of cambodia again with which leaders will do what is best for the nation and her people. we are very hurtful to see cambodia doing all the wrong moves.
I had noticed the last name of the news writer for VOA has the same last name as Yos Sakada who supported the Vietcong invasion of Cambodia! I have to wonder does Chun Sakada is relative of Yos Sakada? If they both are relatives which mean the Vietcong double agents had infiltrated VOA already and many more remain hidden!

When Hun Sen said he would step down if Cambodian revomed him by people power. That's a f** lying!
That freeky Hun Sen said a few weeks ago that he would not allow any situation like in Thailand or in Philipine. If people's power is used to removed him, he said that he would use another people's power to stay. Moreover, a week ago, Hun Sen just promote six more four stars generals. What is that tell us? This indicated that Hun Sen trusted no Keo Kimyan, and a few other generals. Therefore, he needs his own new generals so that these general will worship him and protect him while others may betray him.

Well Hun Sen is not a young man anymore, his ideas are out of date and for 28 years shown very little or no improvement to cambodia and it people. I am confident that the CPP will have Hun Sen's replacement as candidate standing for Prime minister in the next election.

I think you better not to say anything. You are inciting violence. It sounds like you try to put Cambodia back into civil war. It is worth the trade off at this point. Violence will not work in Cambodia. You will only pertetuate instability and suffering for the people. We can win Hun Sen gradually with some patience.
