My heart is crying and my sadness is infinite when I think of my beloved (defunct) cousin, Prince Norodom Phurissara, and his Dear (defunct) Wife, Neak Moneang Norodom Phlous.
1- When “my Right Hand [Man]” Lon Nol and my “other cousin” Sisowath Sirik Matak, on March 18, 1970, decided to betray me in a sordid manner, and to “depose” me, H.H. Prince Norodom Phurissara and his Wife, Neak Moneang Phlous, did not hesitate to leave Phnom Penh, their house and other possessions (including the jewelry belonging to Neak Moneang) to enter the maquis and to fight until the end the Putschists and their Regime, and [doing] so alongside the Khmer Rouge.
2- At my return to Cambodia, following the victory of the National Resisitance, in 1975/1976, the Khmer Rouge Leadership gave the permission to members of my family [who are] members of the GRUNC-FUNC-FAPLNC (Prince Phurissara and Neak Moneang, my Son Khemanurak, my Daughter Sorya Roeungsy and Family, my Daughter Botum Bopha and Family, my ex-son-in-law Prince Sisowath Doussady, [who were] all Patriots and faithful Sihanoukists to the end) to come and see me and dine with me and my Wife, Princess Monique, at the Khemarin Palace.
3- Instead of following the example full of wisdom of my best Friend and my principal and so faithful FUNC-GRUNC companion, Samdech Penn Nouth, and not being able to tolerate the miseries and sufeerings of the Khmer Sihanoukist People under Pol Pot and his Angkar, I decided to “take my retirement” and to ask the Angkar “its permission” –sic!!- to leave the Democratic Kamuchea to have myself taken care of in the P.R. of China.
The Angkar sent twice a “special Delegation” to see me, at the Khemarin Palace, to ask me not to retire and to stay in Cambodia where Dr. Thiounn Thieunn will take care of me. Included in this “special Delegation,” were Samdech Penn Nouth, Prince N. Phurissara, and some very important Khmer Rouge [officials] including (my memory is not good) H.E. Ieng Sary (I think), H.E. Hu Nim (I can be wrong), Mr. (?) (I do not recall this senior official).
(Alas!) I had the most catastrophic “inspiration” (for my faithful [followers]) by maintaining my demand for virtual resignation.
4- The Angkar let me know that my resignation from my position as President of the Democratic Kampuchea was accepted.
It [then] decided to definitely deprive me of the serving personnel and of the cooks.
As for my Faithful [followers] (Phurissara and his Wife, Botum Bopha and her family, Sorya Roeungsy and her Family, and Khemanourak and Doussady), they were able to see me briefly, for the last time.
While knowing “what was in store for them,” Neak Moneang N. Phlous Phurissara and her Husband, with a sad smile, told me: “You are perfectly right, Sire (sic!), to resign. In front of History, you must absolutely keep your name clean (sic!), it could not be defiled (sic!) by the crimes committed by these individuals (sic!) against and to the detriment of Your (sic!) People.”
5- Before sending my virtual resignation to the Angkar, and during a lunch that Phurissara and Phlous, at the Khemarin [Palace], had with my Wife and I, Princess Phlous Phurissara told me about the “Punition” with an unspeakable cruelty inflicted, under the order of the Angkar and [perpetrated] by the Khmer Rouge “executioners,” on Lonnolian officers arrested during the 1970-1975 war and on the day after the April 17, 1975 Victory: the Khmer Rouge, before “finishing” them “off,” had inevitably tortured them for a very very long time, using the most sadistic and most painful (physical) methods imaginable, so much so that these Lonnolian officers begged on their knees and with the “sampeah” (traditional begging) their “executioners” to kill them without extending further their unspeakable physical sufferings.
I think of my so Faithful Sihanoukists. The Khmer rouge had even more “reasons” to make them suffer physically, before “finishing them off,” beyond what is humanly bearable – because the Khmer People loved Samdech Euv whereas Lon Nol was not loved by the large majority of our People. To the Khmer Rouge, Sihanoukism is even more fearsome that Lonnolism.
And that is why I cannot help from thinking about the Martyrdom which, before their death, (H.R.H Samdech, Posthumous title) Norodom Phurissara and his Wife (H.R.H. Princess, Posthumous title) Norodom Phlous, my Daughter N. Botum Bopha and her Family, my Son Khemanourak, my ex-son-in-law S. Doussady, my beloved Sahachivin Chea San (at Tuol Sleng), my Daughter N. Sorya Roeungsy and her Family, my so faithful and so devoted aide, Captain Oung Meang, my Faithful Sahachivins H.E. Hout Sambath and H.E. Isoup Ganthy had to suffer beyond what is humanly bearable.
May Lord Buddha protect them now and bless them.

Dear Prince Sihanouk,
You knew since 1975-76 that that evil ah Pol Pot regime tortured people and executed but what did you do beside resignation??? Were you afraid of death as well??? You closed your eyes and your ears from seeing the killing and hearing the victims'suffering cry. Is this the morality of the father of nation, the father of people?????? Then, after 1979, where were you?? Khmer Rouge leader again right??? You are deadly mentally sick, my grant ta!!!!
Now let forget that part, you are at the age of 85 year old, but still afraid of death by this current prime minister Hun Sen, you stop talking on territory, stop commenting on his politic. You beg him for a small peaceful place to live, closing your eyes from seeing your country fading away from the world map and from seeing your people are suffering from these leaders. I wonder why our people blindly chose you as father of state!!!!!!!!
The Universe & Karma has extended his life to endure his great sufferings that he had done to Khmer-People.
Sihanouk will be last one after Fiedel Castro, the Cuban dictator.
All of his tyrant friends are waiting for him to join its club in Hell.
Cheers,
Bun Heanh Ung
