Hun Sen's solution to land-grabbing: Blooshed

Cambodia land grabbers warned

Phnom Penh (dpa) - Blood will be shed if powerful people and the military in particular do not heed warnings to stop illegal land grabbing, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen told a conference Monday.

His stern warning followed a similar speech to his Cambodian People's Party (CPP) elite at a Central Committee meeting last Saturday.

"Two days ago the CPP Central Committee decided to give me an additional duty; to solve the land issue in Cambodia," he said in a speech to a conference on management of the nation's most important fishery and environmental resource, the Tonle Sap lake.

"In that meeting I strongly attacked CPP officials who grab land, including land around the Tonle Sap. I strongly warn again on this issue, and this warning has to begin with people in power.

"Land grabbing mostly involves military commanders, generals. If I take you out of your position as military commander how can you order your soldiers? If you want to order the troops against the government you will have a short life.

"I was able to dissolve the Khmer Rouge's military organization. Please don't provoke bloodshed. I really don't want bloodshed but if you still fail to obey me, blood must flow," he said in a speech broadcast on national media.

The Central Committee meeting voted to give Hun Sen the power to remove any official from office who was found to be abusing their position. The committee comprises the core elite of Cambodia's most powerful political party and assists in formulating CPP policy.

Donors, rights groups, political analysts and even Hun Sen himself have warned that the rich and powerful abusing their positions to grab land from mostly poor rural Cambodians has the potential to disenfranchise the CPP's heartland voters and even eventually feed political instability.

Donors have demanded the government act to curb endemic corruption in the country through legislation or risk donor nations withholding funds from the heavily aid-dependent country.

Hun Sen told the meeting that at least one senior military official had already heeded his warnings and handed back a large tract of illegally obtained land to the government.

"I intend to solve this problem (of land grabbing) immediately. This is immediate CPP policy," Hun Sen concluded.

Cambodia goes to the polls for nationwide commune elections on April 1. The dominant CPP is expected to easily win those elections but analysts have warned of increasing voter discontent on the issue of land grabbing, land titles and ownership and it has proved a hot campaign issue for both the CPP and opposition parties.

I'm laughing hah, hah,..hah.. with my feet up to the sky to read this FROGGY Hun Sen bragging. I bet he is in diaper when he made his speech to those most powerful guys of Chinese/Yuan/Thai mafia who put him in power. The minute Hun Sen got off from the stage, he got a few phone calls from those guys threatned him to be cool if he wants to stay in power as PM. Hun Sen probably begged those guys to let him speak of lie to the people just now. Now you know why Hun Sen has to wear a diaper because he is wet every time he gives that kind of speech against those powerful guys.

Mafia from Yuan side is Nguyen Van Son aka Hoc Lundy, Mafia from Thai is Tea (Duck) Banh, and Mafia from Chinese is Ly Yong Phat... and many more. These Khmers have never tasted what is Mafia, now they do.

The members of the criminal organization (mafia) are to powerful, they obey no law; and since the government (CPP ruling party) is mafia itself, it even is too powerful, they are untouchable. They have their own troops and own weapons.

Let see how far Hun Sen can do. Hun Sen knows his life will be over if he makes enemy with those powerful guys who are more powerful than he is, and Hun Sen won't dare to do anyway.

Btw: Every member of Hun Sen family wear teh bulletproof clothing. This is the fact.
