Cambodian workers in Banteay Meanchey province, along Thailand border, are currently facing severe hardships.
This claim was made by the Association of Democratic and Independent Non-governmental Economy. This NGO indicated on Friday that Cambodians are facing severe hardships, for example, workers who pull merchandise carts into Thailand are being stamp branded like cattle. When they return back to Cambodia, the Cambodian authorities are, in turn, oppressing them, by demanding bribes from them at three locations: (1) at the international border gate, (2) at the custom office, and (3) at the Cam-Control office (controlled by Cham Pradish’s Ministry of Commerce).
This led this NGO to organize a vote on 04 September, to select its representatives in the Poipet region. This vote will be conducted with the goal of providing legal help to defend the rights of the victimized workers.

what will Hun Sen do to ease our people live? if he cant do the job he must stand down.
When we have bad leaders like Hun Sen Chea Sim, Heng Samrin, our Cambodians people will be looked down by all nationalities. Therefore we need good leaders to lift up our country profile and our people right and prestige.
In the 1980, when Japanese economic was strong everyone in the world has to respect Japanese people. Everyone knew that, they have to drive japanese cars, need Japanese yen etc... When the USA was strong, every country pray for USA dollars. In the old days, when China was poor, every chinese to has to be looked down by all Nationalities around. Everywhere, they saw chinese, people of any background can tease chinese. Now they are different since China has become the world no one in economy and all chinese people are longer to accept all the stupid messages from anyone now. All chinese people around the world now are living with respect and with prestige as well. All these changes will depend very largely to the leadership of the country and their economic development. Cambodians are now at the bottom rank of the people around the world because of their present leaders behavious and attitutes. That is why a leadership change is a top priority to revive our people integrity and our people position in the world communities. An easy example is that a family with a father who is a Doctor and a mother who is a dentist, then the children will live with prestige and full of respect. But in contrast, if a father is a playboy and a mother is prostitute, then how do you feel if you are their children? At present, if our leaders are all prostitutes, how about us? Areak Prey
There are no good dictators. But some are better than others. The best dictators permit freedom of expression, rule of law and economic growth, creating a democratic-minded middle class that eventually pushes them aside. Cambodia is no exception, Hun Sen is the worst dictator, and by contrast, grind down civil society, breeding poverty and sectarian confrontation and pulverizing all the institutions from which liberalism might grow. Furthermore, the world loaned hundreds of billions of dollars to Hun Sen illegitimate regimes, then facilitated the flow of millions of dollars of corrupt and tax-evading money out of the country, and now have the audacity to tell the next generation of poor people that they have to pay their debts in order to be creditworthy in the future. But many such loans were taken out by Hun Sen autocrats and used it to repress dissent and to build personal wealth in the West? Hun Sen eventually will leave too, but when he does, all hell may breaks lose, just be mindful.
