A high-ranking official from the committee organizing national and international holydays indicated that during this year’s upcoming Bon Om Touk (racing boats festival), the number of boats participating has increased over the past years. Min Khin, chairman of the committee for organizing the national and international holydays indicated that 423 boats have already applied to participate in the race this year. This number represents an increase of 14 boats over last year’s number, and this number could increase further as other boats still have to apply for the race. Min Khin said that last year, there were only 409 boats participating. Min Khin also indicated that among the boats participating in the race, there will be roving boats maneuvered by men and women teams, paddling boats by men and women teams, and 7 boats from other ASEAN countries.

Wow, it is almost that time again. I hope all the merchants will be well prepared to capitalized on the "Om Touk" festival. In addition to the new ASEAN contenders, there will be millions of visitors from around the worlds. I get goos bump just talk about it, hehehe! Thus, let's see some Khmer's innovations this year.

Also, I think we ought to give out award to the top three merchants from the festival in order to promote Khmer entrepreneurship ...

And last but not least, we should lobbying the Olympic committee to include this event in the 2008 Beijing Olympic as well. That way, we'll have a great chances for gold medals.
