Cambodia’s top military commander said Friday tensions had eased on the border near Preah Vihear temple, but soldiers on the front line worried of more fighting in the wake of three skirmishes this week.

Commanders in the field met for a second round of talks Friday, after gun battles at three sites near Preah Vihear temple left at least three Cambodians dead Wednesday.

The situation on the border was “normal” following the violence, but Cambodian soldiers were remaining vigilant, Gen. Ke Kim Yan, commander-in-chief of Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, told reporters after meeting his Thai counterpart.

Ke Kim Yan also said the sides had not agreed to joint patrols, despite reported statements by the Thai side to the contrary.

Neither side has been able to agree on border demarcations, making joint patrols impossible, he said.

Meanwhile, soldiers on the front lines in the forested mountains surrounding Preah Vihear temple said they worried about more fighting, despite negotiations.

Both sides had ceased speaking to each other or shaking hands, as they had before Wednesday’s fighting, Cambodian soldiers said.

Where the hell is Scam Rainsy and Kim Sucka in this period of crisis? They seem as quiet as a cat.

As opposition Scam Rainsy and Kim Sucka shoulda offer a suggestion on what they would do to resolve the crisis IF THEY WERE PM. We voters want to know what they would do if they were in Hun Sen's position. But where are they now? in the bunker shitting all over themselves.

Scam and Sucka only know how to criticize Khmer and work to ban foreign aids to Khmer, but when it comes to protect Khmer, they have no ideas. I have lost all my faith in the opposition now, after this crisis and after Scam flip flop his pledge to boycott NA as a result of bribes by Kith Meng.

I repeat this: Now it shows why Cambodia needs Hun Sen. If you are opposition supporters, time to switch. Scam and Sucka are hopeless useless foreign idiots.

Sounds like Thailand is putting Cambodia on the spot, forcing them accept their demand through the media. Didn’t Thais’ foreign minister do the something before the fighting break out?

“One whom hit first will win”, that's what my parents taught me. Though, I haven’t try with any body yet. I think I should start with my wife huh, she is Thai. JUST KIDDING. She is ok…she like Cambodian, especially me.

4:41,
Hey dumb ass! Hope you know that Sam Rainsy and Kim Sokha did not get elected during the previous elections.
Why should Sam Rainsy have any say about the Thai conflict? He's just an ordinary citizens like you and me. Are you suggesting that your re-elected PM need an advice from the man that he cheated during the election? Your PM should seek some advice from his 140 advisors that he'd previously appointed. Oh, I forgot..... he doesn't take anyone's advice. Get real!

5:12, you shit head

Yep I know Scam and Sucka did not get elected, and thanks God for that!

Scam and Sucka are not ordinary citizens as you said. They are politician. They always said they would be better PM than Hun Sen. Now that Cambodia is experiencing a difficult time, we voters want to know what they WOULD do as PM if they were PM now. We want to know how they could handle the situation better than Hun Sen.

So far, none from them in terms of complaint or policy suggestions.

Some say Hun Sen will not listen to them? But I believe Hun Sen will listen but whether or not he follows depend on the goodness of the suggestion. But as opposition Scam Rainsy and Kim Sucka shoulda offer a suggestion on what they would do to resolve the crisis IF THEY WERE PM. Isn't that what they always wanted, to be PM?

Dear all,

Please stop playing yuon GAME anymore. This was set up to confuse all Khmers, inside and outside, to forget the Vietmisation
of Cambodia with over 100,000 Viet troops still occupying our country.

Khmer country had no more borders with Vietnam with 64 border gates for the illegal Viets immigrants flocking into Cambodia freely, and raped the KHmer resources of all kinds.

Open your eyes widely and use your brain to analyse the thruth behind this Khmer-Thai borders' conflict.

The problem is also with current Khmer leader who want to show off against historical aggressor. The incident would not have happened if the government requested the UN for intervention in July. It's not too late to request for their help in order to avoid bloodshed. Either side is Khmer. Only Khmer surins are in frontline. That's reason why Khmer didn't kill those captured soldiers. My concern is that many young Cambodians quited their school to enlist for military service. We need them to build a strong Cambodia if peace can be achieved. Hun Sen should wake up and go for UN or EU's help. You can still go for golfing, digging wells for the poor, and let the UN do the job. Only international police can stop thieves.
