Cambodia has only 90 Kilometer of costal Beach! With all the fucken illegal smuggling of sand by AH Mong Rethy and AH LY Yong Phat will put an end to Cambodian tourist industry!
Cambodia has Angkor Wat and Cambodia must have beautiful beach for tourist too!
If it's bad to remove sand from sea cost, minister of environment and PM should be hang!
Yes, this is disastrous for the environment, wildlife and eco-tourism.
One does not need to be a scientist to work out the corrosive, knock-on impact that the removal of millions of tons of sand from coastal sea floor has on immediate land and coastal areas as well as the loss of local people's livelihood and the fishing industry.
Having exhausted forest stock and dry land based materials, the sea is now the last frontier for commercial exploitation. It just underlines how ruthless and unethical the individuals involved and the collaborating authorities behind them are.
One is reminded of Ghandi's words about there being enough in the world for everyone's need, but not everyone's greed. Unless this ecological rape is stopped, people and future generations will go to the seaside to mourn the dead sea instead of taking a swim in it.
