To all venerable KKrom monks:
Prayers alone won't help you. Yes, Lord Buddha allows you to take up arms to kill your enemies.

The Vietcong government is using the Khmer Krom people as an example to all Khmer who want to resist the Vietcong oppression!

An oppression on Khmer Krom is an oppression on all Khmer!

you have to understand khmer krom life is in a delimma. they used youn name because they don't want to be discriminated by youn in youn country while on the other hand they changed their names to khmer name in cambodia because they also don't want to be discriminated against by khmer people in cambodia. so, it a continue life struggle for these people caught in between both world, khmer and youn. see, you have to understand their plight. in cambodia, khmer people hated youn and maybe in youn country, they hated khmer people, too. it goes both way, that's why khmer krom are caught in the middle of this, so they have to adapt to both countries, really! that's why they are fighting for their rights!

To all khmer how could we come up with a creative way to improve our khmer social network and grow?

for one, khmer language is one way to create social network. don't under estimate the khmer language, it's a powerul source that can unite all khmer people. so, never be shy or afraid to use khmer language. be proud of it; khmer language is a beautiful language as well. speak more in khmer in khmer krom and in cambodia, maybe only use youn when dealing with youn gov't,etc... but by all mean use and speak khmer more in your villages, at home, at temple, at gatherings, etc, etc... help to promote and keep khmer language alive forever, ok!

Khmer should take French to court and sue them for giving our Khmer Krom land to Youn.

If we have a good Khmer leader, we can take it back from Youn, but unfortunately we have stupid kings and Prime Ministers.

please don't depend on King or PM,they are there for their power only. Average Khmer will do fine to correct our own mistake and problems

Read this below and where does it say Khmer's king ceded land to Viet? The king did allowed them to seek refuge in our lands but not ceded. Please stop twisting or manipulating the story around. The French is really at fault.

In 1623, King Chey Chettha II of Cambodia (1618-1628) allowed Vietnamese refugees fleeing the Trịnh-Nguyễn War in Vietnam to settle in the area of Prey Nokor, and to set up a custom house at Prey Nokor. Increasing waves of Vietnamese settlers, which the Cambodian kingdom, weakened because of war with Thailand, could not impede, slowly Vietnamized the area. In time, Prey Nokor became known as Saigon.

In 1698, Nguyễn Hữu Cảnh, a Vietnamese noble, was sent by the Nguyen rulers of Huế to establish Vietnamese administrative structures in the area, thus detaching the area from Cambodia, which was not strong enough to intervene. Since 1698, the area has been firmly under Vietnamese administration. The Vietnamese became the majority population in most places[citation needed].

In 1802 Nguyen Anh crowned himself emperor Gia Long and had unified all territories which are now modern Vietnam, including the Khmer Krom territory. In the 1970s, the Khmer Rouge regime attacked Vietnam in an attempt to reconquer those areas of the delta still predominantly inhabited by Khmer Krom people, but this military adventure was a total disaster and precipitated the invasion of Cambodia by the Vietnamese army and subsequent downfall of the Khmer Rouge, with Vietnam occupying Cambodia.

Son Ngoc Thanh, the nationalist Cambodian, was a Khmer krom, born in Trà Vinh, Vietnam. Cambodia got independence in Geneva, 1954, through the Vietnamese struggle in the First Indochina War.

In 1757, the Vietnamese colonized the provinces of Psar Dèk (renamed Sa Đéc in Vietnamese) and Moat Chrouk (vietnamized to Châu Đốc).

Please read this article below and tell me which king or whatever sentences said the king ceded the land to Vietnam? I don't think so. Please stop twisting or manipulating the history. The FRENCH is totally at FAULT.

To 10:42PM...

Good point for pointing out why the Khmer Krom still use the Vietnamese sound name...Since Chey Chetta the Vietnamese government began their oppression on Khmer Krom people by killing Khmer leaders and then force all Khmer Krom to change their Khmer name into Vietnamese name in hoping that the Khmer Krom people will surrender to the Vietnamese domination! So far the Vietnamese government is succeeding in changing the Khmer name into Vietnamese name but the Vietnamese can never change the heart of the Khmer Krom for being Khmer!

By the way the Vietnamese government not only change the Khmer Krom people name into Vietnamese name and the Vietnamese government also change all the former Khmer provinces name in Khmer Kampuchea Krom into Vietnamese name too!

Any Khmer people who want to help Khmer Krom people and Hun Sen is ready to prepare a coffin for you! This is not the first time that the Khmer Krom people were abandoning by the Khmer King, the Khmer government, and in some cases the Khmer people! But the Khmer Krom people will never surrender to the Vietnamese domination!

just because right now the youn is running the khmer krom lands, doesn't mean khmer krom have to change to youn in every way, you know! through time, political geography changed hands. it was cambodia, now youn, then back to cambodia one day in the future; who knows! only time can tell. so, always maintain a strong khmer identity like using khmer language, keeping khmer culture, belief, tradition, names, etc... it is khmer krom's rights to keep their origin as khmer race. youn violated human rights if they try to suppress khmer krom's rights! keep in mind too that many countries on the planet have minorities and those minorites can keep their identity like language, culture, tradition, etc... so khmer krom do have that rights forever, if youn tries to abuse that or suppress that rights, by all mean fight back or take them to international courts, etc...
