i think kampuchea krom will always be kampuchea krom. don't let political geography change it. political geography is like a fence, it can be taken apart, destroyed, rebuilt, etc, etc, you know. just continue to be kampuchea krom despite this political geography obstacle. the important thing is to continue to strong khmer identity like language, tradition, culture, etc. everything else is just an obstacle. well, learn to ignore any obstacle and continue with life, really! god bless khmer krom language, people, etc.

did you know about khmer geography facts? our beloved koh tral island is only 15 km distance from mainland cambodia compare to 80 km from khmer krom's mekong delta. so, koh tral should be returned to cambodia again. koh tral is about 500 sq. km in area or about 200 sq. miles in area. it was khmer island until french colonist signed it to vietnam or youn country when french granted cambodia and youn independence in 1949 and 1952, respectively. history is interesting, indeed, you know.
