Hun Sen has his good logic, but Cambodia will lose its national sovereign integrity

Tuesday, January 13, 2009
Op-Ed by Khmer Young

Hun Sen is using a good logic for his personal gains such as power, wealth and self-interest. But his rhetoric is surely deteriorating Cambodia's future freedom and national sovereign integrity.

It is unarguable that January 07 are mixing with freedom from brutality and experiencing foreign invasion over Cambodia.

So, this 30 years from the Khmer Rouge brutality is meaningful for Cambodia because Khmer Rouge is not fearful to Cambodia any more. But what is fearful is that the influence and domination of foreigner VN is still overwhelmingly spreading in Cambodia. Nobody can deny the eternal relationship of Hun Sen and Vietnam (I mean this because not all CPP's members are agreeing with Hun Sen to bend down before Hanoi by celebrating and valuing this January 07 day).

More than this, Hun Sen is good and he is the spearhead to do whatever he can to divide and split Cambodia society into pieces. His speech likes this is to intentionally divide Cambodian peoples into small groups so that his boss, the VN, can take advantage and take over Cambodia easily, eventually.

In short, all Cambodian political parties should pursue their national interests as their absolutely goal. Hun Sen should not say that unless opposition party can control the government, so that they can eliminate January 07 and to celebrate the day of October 23. Saying this is ignorantly dividing Cambodian people and it is stupidly for a national leader.

When KR regime is totally disappeared and KR trial is ongoing performing, it is truly useless to recognize or celebrate the day of January 07, the foreign invasion in Cambodia. Whatever, they want to legitimize the day of January 07, this day is still not making any good for Cambodia's future freedom and national sovereign integrity.

Only October 23, that all Cambodian political parties shook hand to end the internal civil wars and shouldered to build our nation. Without October 23, how can we have current national constitution, monarchy, foreign aids, and others...?

Someone may argue that without January 07, we don't have October 23, but as you know that argument is just a self-interest rhetoric with short-sighted and puppetic leadership by prostrating the foreigner VN.

Cambodia Political Crown: a new shift

Saturday, January 3, 2009
Op-Ed by Khmer Young
On the web at http://cambodianbrightfuture.blogspot.com

Dear All,

To respond to Khmerization's analytical article [see below] about the King and the Republic, I am profoundly affected by the current appearance of new sort of a Political Crown in Cambodia.

To put it simply, the regards to present constitutional monarchy Cambodia is just a show. It is truly political show to having King but in reality Cambodia currently has no King. Present Cambodia has solely transformed into a new type of Political Crown.

The idea of this political crown has been witnessed by the transition of ancient feudal monarchy to cold war communist ideology. While communist blamed feudal and corrupted monarchical/elite system, they created new type of their own King (political crown) such as the Collectivism Camp, the Angkar or Top Commander...etc

As the result, we acknowledge the idea generalized "all communist political leaders or their polibureau are the new type of King, Crown, Feuds, or Monarch".

In Cambodia is not different from that transition. Hun Sen has gradually become the true King/Crown. This is the political shift which no one can oppose it in both academic debate and folklore communication.

In his longest primiership, Hun Sen and his cronies particularly under the galvanizing of his eternal friend the Vietnam, his gradually achievement to become Khmer King is clearly exhibited.

We might call new shift of Cambodia politic led by a man with no Kingship Blood like Hun Sen as Republic, but it is surely still relevant as a Political Crown.

Personally, I don't mind what Cambodia political system is going to shape. Or we can say the Cambodia Monarchy is abolished by Monarchical Members themselves to change Cambodia to republic, or we can say Cambodia in the future will become republic by Hun Sen's leadership; but the key issue is to keep Cambodia alive with true peace, stability, dignity and prosperity as all of us need.

However, our hope has been gradually derailed away because of continual Vietnam domination and puppet behavior of CPP.

Under Hun Sen's political leadership within CPP, Cambodia cannot move forward with brighter future. It has moved forward solely to satisfy his eternal friend, the Vietnam.

To articulate this argument empirically, we can conclude that:
  1. Vietnam's new approach of expansionism and Vietnamization in Cambodia is by impersonating in free marketing, flowing of illegal immigrants and creating physical border demarcation by neglecting international laws...etc
  2. CPP has been made by Vietnam. It is ideally to keep this machine alive in Cambodia.
  3. Under CPP's administration, there are still hundred thousands of Vietnamese soldiers and policemen are hiding and impersonating as Cambodian.
  4. In order to achieve its goal and to avoid the international condemn, Vietnam has arranged to maintain their agents to work as the Cambodian policemen entirely country.
  5. Is it safe and free and sovereign for Cambodian people as well as their beloved nation, when their safety guards are impersonating Vietnamese agents?
  6. Angkor Wat has been owned/concessed by Sok Kong, a Vietnamese businessman, are employing Vietnamese citizens and special agents.
  7. Vietnam sees clearly that Angkor Wat is the icon of nationalism and cultural identity of Cambodia, so to keep controlling Angkor Wat will ensure their expansionism.
  8. The day of January 7 has been reactivated by CPP again to celebrate as well as to manipulate Cambodian people to believe and trust in Vietnam. This is correct that, Vietnam can control Cambodia only when they can convince Cambodian people to believe in them.
  9. The celebration of the day of January 7 has no meaning at all for Cambodian people because we celebrate this day in order to stop the coming back of KR, but currently will KR come back?
  10. So the day of January 7 celebration is politically oriented and it is surely to celebrate in order to pay gratitude to foreigner.
  11. Not only celebrate the day of January 7, CPP under Vietnam's spearhead has tried to create chaos in Khmer society, for instance the present news of laying bombs on the ground in the capital city of Phnom Penh, is the good excuse to blame all other dissents.
  12. While general Cambodian dissents of the day of Junuary 7 are keeping silent, the CPP under Vietnamese spearhead will make this day overwhelmingly louder and louder.
So, how can we conclude that Cambodia's under new type of Political Crown, Hun Sen, can lead us to freedom, stability, peace and prosperity?

Exploring Vietnam-Cambodia relationship activity

Saturday, November 29, 2008
Op-Ed by Khmer Young
On the web at http://cambodianbrightfuture.blogspot.com

Noticeably, many CPP's top leaders have taken turn to visit VN. Each visit has different purposes; some are official, some are personal exchange visit, some are routine trip...but what we have observed is that the same phrase and same sentence have been repeating again and again by Vietnam top leaders.

Do you hear "the development of VN-Cambodia friendship and co-operation"? VN has enhanced its strategy from burning Cambodia into piece by war during Sihanoukist, LonNolist, and PolPotist regime; VN 90 degree changed its policy through cold tactic under HunSenist regime. But it is on a good time and a good policy because the premise of murderous policy of KR is sufficient enough for VN to dominate and take over Cambodia.

The phrase "co-operation, comprehensive understanding, as well as strengthening or accelerating this relationship culture" has been well stipulated in the agreement with Cambodia signed by Hun Sen, Chea Sim, and Heng Samrin under the conspiracy theory used to rescuing Cambodia crusade headed by VN.

This agreement has tied all CPP's heads to mobilize in that path. The death of Hok Lundy significantly triggered VN to make sure that their followers are still honest to them. And the aging of those CPP top leaders intensifies VN to think of their future achievement over Cambodia. But the structure and leadership of CPP has been well established by VN to ensure its domination policy over Cambodia. Or we can say "CPP survives, VN's domination policy surely survives".

Trips to VN have been routinely and monthly made by every top leaders of CPP. Counting from top Buddhist monk leaders, to permanent members of CPP, policemen and military...etc, all have made both public and un-public visit to VN.

VN will not allow Cambodia to live freely and happily for self-determination and self-rights. The VN-Cambodia agreement for 20 years ended in 2005 (recorded since 1979/1980/1981 outstanding agreement signed by Hun Sen, Heng Samrin and Chea Sim). But VN can step to other pace by creating a new agreement on controversial border treaty in 2005. This treaty can renew VN's domination policy towards Cambodia to another decades as its support with the border markers as well as other development projects along the border will not be easily finished.

Many premises VN has created to tie its formers followers such as KR atrocity, border treaty, development project in the triangle spot, economic co-operation, and other utility supported by VN such as setting up radio station etc.

New approach of VN to keep their status quo of continuing dominate Cambodia is to make sure that all important Cambodian leaders have paid a visit to VN and signed the paper in front of their state leaders. In the past, the vessel countries would pay tribute to their boss/dominant countries, but modernity, vessel countries just frequently make their trip to pay a visit, sign an agreement and admire each other for their long term friendship integrity. But how integrity when a giant is talking with a small ant.

Cambodia might not be able to escape from the jaw of VN under the leadership of CPP. Though the open horizon of Cambodian international relations has been increasing to many other third world such as China, America, and Europe; but this border opening policy has entirely followed on the trace of VN. Remember, Cambodia became the tenth member of ASEA precisely under the auspices of VN. When VN says "YES", Cambodia can engage and marry with other countries or get license to become a member; but when VN say "NO", Cambodia will not move any further, and some time Cambodian top leaders can conduct violence to their own citizens such as the humaliation towards Khmer Kampuchea Krom and hostile the Buddhist monks protested VN embassy etc to favor their boss.

Regional co-operation is good for Cambodia, but VN-Lao-Cambodia co-operation is tantamount to the loss of Cambodia self-determination and self-rights. Under CPP's leadership, the legality to guarantee Cambodia sovereign integrity has been totally dismissed because CPP is afraid of utilizing Paris Peace Agreement for its foreign policy.

What do you think and who do you project your thought on behalf of Cambodian younger generation to this tricky policy of VN?

Cambodia of uncertainty: economic is booming, but sovereignty is dooming

Thursday, August 21, 2008
Op-Ed by Khmer Young
On the web at http://CambodianBrightFuture.blogspot.com

Cambodian peoples might be so happy with the economic growth of at least 7.00% annually. But in reality, this growth is just the shadow of failure because the inflation is soaring up to 10-15%. The fruits from this growth is not equally distributed. 80% of Cambodian farmers are significantly deteriorated by this growth.

1. The social gap is appearing every aspect of Cambodian society. The poor and the rich is gradually widened from such tricky economic boom. Many poor children quit school because they cannot afford to pay tips for teachers.

Private schools are booming to attract the rich children while poor children are dooming under the act of teachers who receive unjust salary in public schools.

There are many expensive cars such as Lexus and Land Cruisers drive across dumped street children and beggar children.

2. Cambodia has become the "Police State"since the failure of UN to crack down this tactical structure. Vietnam invaded Cambodia in 7 January 1979 to structure Cambodia society as a Police State. They withdrew the uniform military because their bottom structuring was complete. Currently, this structure is gradually strengthening. Major Cambodian policemen are Vietnamese by origin who have been well trained to carry gun to safeguard Cambodian citizens.

How can we say Cambodia is free and independent when Cambodia has foreigners to safeguard our peace and security?

3. National election is just the political game to legitimize Police State leader. By conducing votes, the Police State leader can legally claim their leadership and inspire more aids to last their power.

Their power and wealth are not only gained by exploiting national treasures but also accrue from the foreign aids and loans. New acceptance of decentralization and good governance only sustain their power to last forever.

4. Cambodian peoples should not be easily deceived by the Khmer Rouge brutality. How good is it when communists come to free us from another communists? They both are communist. Their characteristic is still communist and their leadership is absolute. How is different between Khmer Rouge communist and Vietnamese communist? It is different only the color (red & white) but the nature of these two communists are totalitarianism regime.

Khmer Rouge regime is passed, no KR regime will come to power again; and during KR regime, Khmer can protect its border land. White communist Vietnam is foreigner and this country has long time attempted to swallow Cambodia. Now their ambition is on the right track.

Transitional Cambodia Politics: July, 2008 Election of Segregation

Monday, May 26, 2008
Op-Ed By Khmer Young
On the web at http://cambodianbrightfuture.blogspot.com

I call this coming July 2008 national election of Cambodia as the Election of Segregation because the wealthiest and strongest CPP party has been keeping its Segregating Win-win Strategy forever. Regardless of how CPP has generated the capital resources to win the vote, this party has been tremendously trying to segregate the largest opposition party, the SRP. Hun Sen's win-win strategy is maintaining the same tactic: to weaken internal bond of opposition party, the SRP. There are many faces of that tactic, but the one current significant ongoing operation is to keep welcoming and appointing higher position to all those defectors from the SRP.

Generally speaking and fairly judgment, the sound policy of SRP towards some sensitive issues in Cambodian society surely make CPP's headache such as corruption, land grabbing, kleptocracy, illegal immigrants, commodities inflation, and biased judiciary system etc In responding to this SRP's key campaign, CPP under Hun Sen leadership is subverting the attention of Cambodian peoples and take advantage over SRP by building internal division and breaking inside SRP. Many defectors are increasing from SRP. As a genuine democratic party, SRP has hardship to stop those walking away in hope of finding new opportunity. The opportunists are existing in every party. But when CPP has been targeting SRP, it is surely incomprehensible. But CPP's tactic relating this internal breaking task-force is surely become double-edged sword. However, as an independent observer of Cambodia politics, why no one from CPP has been defected or walked away? Is this because of CPP is good and perfect? Or this is because of CPP is communist party that the defectors expect only to lose their life and invisible suffering?

Not only this internal operation of CPP that we should pay attention, the critical issues of Cambodian nation are neglected by CPP in correcting themselves for genuine development and sustainability of Cambodia. But in order to continue their position and power, CPP has to divide and eliminate any strong opposition party. It seems like CPP has not concerned and paid attention in collective actions and collaboration with the criticism of opposition parties, but CPP has concerned the abolishing anyone who has criticized their misbehavior.

In developed countries, with their professional political task-force, government regards the suggestions and criticism of opponents as the key proponents for their success and to improve the disadvantages of their nations. In contrast, Cambodia more sound criticisms made by opponents more divisive and marginalized will inevitably occur inside that opposition party.

In this matter, who are we going to blame? The political parties? The individual immature political leadership? Or the culture that has long time ingrained in Cambodian society?

The current interaction between government party and opposition parties are likely not basing on professional political career at all. Particularly, the government party (CPP) who is handing the largest social capital absolutely oversee the situation and perpetuate all opportunities to gain and maintain its power regardless of that power surely distracts the interests of Cambodian peoples.

In current transitional Cambodia politics, I can say politics is about the politics, politics is not about the investment of social good for Cambodia and the whole collective interests for them. Who is going to win is about your political party effective strategy, how good you understand the psychological traits of Cambodian peoples? How good you comprehend the collective behavior of Cambodian peoples when they think about politics? And how effective of your public speech in introducing your key policy precisely to be widespread tempted by the peoples to win their heart and mind?

However, to be fair the mechanism that can stimulate the Cambodian peoples and compete on the above perspective is absolutely excellent. But if the election procedure has already been projected to manipulate Cambodian peoples through the biased National Election Committees (NEC), it is a grave and ugly strategy. It is comparing like the winner pervasively robe and rape their own citizens!

A genuine message from a younger generation Cambodian citizen

Thursday, May 01, 2008

Dear Somdech Ta,

I am younger Cambodian has been non-stoppingly disturbed by your political rhetorics and messages. I think you should write or express something valuable and reliable to instruct your Koun Chao.

Somdech Ta, according to my observing, you are good in labeling and segregating the political groups. The so-called Pol Potians, Lon Nolians, and Hun Senians have frequently, eloquently iterated by Som Dech Ta.

I don't understand what is your goal and political agenda to label Khmers with such different political groups in order to benefit Cambodia?

Now, you are not only lambasting Lon Nonians and Pol Potians, but you are absolutely siding with Hun Senians. As a glorious king, why you have to side with one group and abuse another group like this? I don't see any political maturity and good role model being expressed or iterated by you at all, Som Dech Ta.

I am frankly confessing that Som Dech Ta should spend the less time you have to write academic book or history book or short proverb book etc to leave it as your legacy for Cambodian younger generations to head a good future for Cambodia.

With Respect!

Is 7 January day useful for Khmers?

January 7, 2008
Op-Ed by Khmer Young
On the web at http://cambodianbrightfuture.blogspot.com

We all have perceived that 7 January day is useful for Cambodian People Party (CPP) only. Khieu Kanharidh has also reaffirmed that this day for holiday also recognizes the killing field in Vietnam by Khmer Rouge soldiers as well.

How about its significance and useful for Cambodians?

The answer is NO, NOT AT ALL ----it is useless for Cambodian nation and her peoples.

Because it is just a bitter day reminding the day that Khmer divided with Khmers, Khmers hated Khmers, Khmer retaliated/revenged Khmers, and Khmers murdered/frightened Khmers.

--- it is the day that the stage for Khmer future, their nation and politics have received only the DAMNATION, and LOSING to foreigner----

But it is fortunate for Khmers that we have had 23 October 1991 that has provided potential to Khmers to having love and forgiveness to each others, and stand up firmly to protest all foreigner aggression/imperialism/expansionism---

Personally, I have no specific political affiliation, I am frankly assuring that:

---Whoever recognize 7 January as the holiday or whatever, are the persons who are endorsing the culture of Khmer hates Khmer, Khmer revenges Khmer, Khmer divides Khmer, and they are serving foreigner only----

----Whoever, recognize 23 October as the holiday or whatever, are the persons who are endorsing the culture of Khmer loves Khmer, Khmer forgives Khmer, Khmer unites Khmer, and Khmers can protect themselves from all foreign invasions, especially Khmers can bolster democracy, human rights respect, and advancement like other civilized countries in the world.

Philosophy from Bon Oum Touk

Opinion
By Khmer Young
http://cambodianbrightfuture.blogspot.com/

As I can see, the Bon Oum Touk or boat racing ceremony shed us two concepts of philosophy:
  1. It is good for Cambodians to preserve this long traditional ceremony of Cambodia. It symbolizes the strength of Cambodian navy, pay gratitude to the water, to farewell the starting receding of water, and to entertain Cambodian peasants from hard work of crops cultivating.
  2. But it is surely if you watch TV or listen to Radios, or read newspapers; Cambodian's bon oum touk is the occasion for those Cambodian high-rank officials to advertise their names, power and position through sponsoring with many projects: starting from sponsoring TVK, to boat crew, to rice, to cloths, too many and others...etc
So it is remarkably that invaluable Khmer traditional bon oum touk has become the central place for those corrupted government officials to make money laundering and advertise their cronyism/favoritism.

If younger Cambodian generation wants to see brighter future of Cambodia, they must understand that this charity culture from those higher rank officials are only the encouraging of perpetuating corruption and Cambodia as a state has become weaker and weaker through this behavior.

Many those high-rank officials are happy to advertise themselves through the opportunity of bon oum touk and presence of the King.

Their political legitimacy is very low and disgusting....this low profile political legitimacy culture comes from their previous evil backgrounds and less education.

November 9: in case of Cambodia independence and its controversy

09 November 2007
OpEd by Khmer Young
http://cambodianbrightfuture.blogspot.com

Our independence day is abused by Vietnam because they tried defrocked monk Tim Sakhorn on this day. This is usual politics for Vietnam as they always do anything in public to insult the Cambodian people. The concept is simple: you have no independence and sovereignty because your people can be tried by my court like what you see in the case of Tim Sakhorn.

Venerable Monk Tim Sakhorn is Khmer, 100% Khmers. But for the friendship of Vietnam-Cambodia (legacy of Indochinese Federation from 1930), Hun Sen government defrocked Venerable Tim Sakhorn and sent him to be tried in an alien country.

In order to retain their friendship, Cambodian government can do everything towards their own Cambodian people, as in case of Venerable Tim Sakhorn, to favor their so-called relationship; and, especially, the CPP has been violating the Paris Peace Agreement and exploited Cambodian people through uncountable so-called bilateral corporations and agreements with their friendly partner (Vietnam).

We can notice that, since 1930, with the creation of Indochinese Federation, to the present, in 2007, their objectives and procedures are not different. Their objectives are "to preserve the special relationship between the Vietnamese people and the people of Laos and Cambodia; and to strengthen military solidarity, mutual trust, long term corporation and mutual assistance in all fields..." (Read "Vietnam Join the World" by James William Morley, Masashi Nishihara).

Under our present Sam Kok leaders: Chea Sim, Heng Samrin and Hun Sen; we are hopeless to expect their political will and effort to free Cambodia from Vietnam. But we still hope and believe that when these Sam Kok dare sacrifice their power and position, and, more importantly, when the CPP members who can see the danger of Vietnam-Cambodia relationship, dare wake up to reform CPP, at that time, we will see a glimpse of real independence in Cambodia.

According to Kong Hean's scenarios, it will not work with option 1 (because they are absolute lackey and frightened), option 2 (because our Somdech Ta's vision is to maintain royal throne first, the rests are vice versa), option 2 (Cambodian people are too exhausted and fearful), but option 3 might be possible that we must help supplement the seats for SRP.

And I have two effective scenarios: firstly, the movement must start from the internal CPP because I do believe there are many CPP members who are potentially able to revive independence for Cambodia from such a tricky relationship; and secondly do whatever it takes to uplift the SRP to become the ruling party or lead the country in 2008, so that, Cambodia will have its own fully independent decision-making without paying gratitute to anybody or being a lackey to anybody's help or long lasting friendship signing.

Note: when SRP comes to power, they must keep relationships with all neighboring countries and other international nations. But with Vietnam, SRP must not follow the nature of relation like present Cambodian government led by CPP.

Khmer Young's Political Opinion

Click on the letter in Khmer to zoom in

Monday, August 13, 2007
Op-Ed by Khmer Young
On the web at http://cambodianbrightfuture.blogspot.com

TRANSLATION:

Announcement

This time Khmers must wake up, unite and direct the right thinking:
  • Khmers must not look down or create hate towards the monarchy because Cambodia is the Kingdom
  • Khmers must not revenge Khmer Rouge (Pol Pot) because this regime has already passing away. We must presently concentrate on the interests of the nation. If we still have hate or revenge towards Khmer Rouge or its cadres in the moment, it is just the personal affair, not national affair. We just try to prevent it not to allow any new regimes with the same manner happen again.

  • All Khmer leaders in all parties and tendencies must prioritize the interests of the nation. The conflicts, opposing, criticizing or competing is not the cause of national declining, but the conflicts, opposing, criticizing or competing is the driving force leading to the progress of whole nation.
  • Khmer leaders must not effort to gain self-interest, self-power and brag himself as superior than others that no body can lead the country like him because these attitudes make himself evil as well as the whole nation.
  • Prime minister must not play his role of both prime minister and King. For example, the graduate ceremony must be presided by neutral person such as the King, not the prime minister because the King is a symbol of unity and neutral person. Doing so the international community and intellects praise us.
  • All gifts to poor people or emergency supplies to those victims of the natural disasters must not on behalf of prime minister or official elites because doing so not reflect the willingness to comply to the national law, dignity of leadership and good example leadership for Cambodian young generation.
  • Monarchy must not express any special favorite or praise any political leaders because doing so will destroy his reputation and he is not being neutral as he must be.
