Although sounding extremely serious, we thought the following "dark humour" article may be entertaining for your reading. Please consider it with a grain of salt.

Voodoo session to chase away Cham devil at Samdech Krom Preah palace in Tuol Kork

A number of Funcinpec officials who support princess Ouk Phalla [unofficial second wife/mistress of Prince Norodom Ranariddh] had organized a voodoo session to chase away devils whom they believed are living inside the royal palace of Samdech Krom Preah in Tuol Kork. These devils are also believed to be living with princess Ouk Phalla. The session was participated by numerous Chumteavs [wives of high ranking government officials] whose husbands obtained government positions through princess Ouk Phalla.

The originator of the idea of organizing the voodoo session was known as Phang. He organized the session on Thursday (09 March) at the new palace of Samdech Krom Preah Norodom Ranariddh in Boeung Kak, Khan Tuol Kork. The session was grandly organized 2 days before the return of Samdech Krom Preah to Cambodia.

One Chumteav who participated in the voodoo session told Sralanh Khmer reporter that during the session, the organizer had placed large photos of Samdech Krom Preah on all the walls. However, in the room where the voodoo session was actually performed, the photo of the prince was placed underneath that of princess Ouk Phalla, a long wig was placed on the head [of the princess’ photo] giving it a very scary appearance.

During the voodoo session, the voodoo master blessed the picture of Ouk Phalla with magic water, he then took the wig and whirled it around while shouting: “Cham devil get out, devil disappear far away, don’t come and give a hard time to the princess.”

The same Chumteav also told Sralanh Khmer that the voodoo organizers suspect Princess Marie [Ranariddh, first and legitimate wife of Prince Norodom Ranariddh], who is of Cham origin, was the culprit in casting a spell on princess Phalla. They (those who support Ouk Phalla) believe that Prince Marie hired a Cham voodoo master to [perform a voodoo rite to] give a hard time on Ouk Phalla, that is why Ouk Phalla had to run away and no longer dares live in Cambodia. She had to get out from Cambodia and hide in safety in Malaysia.

The Cham voodoo spell cast by Princess Marie was also blamed for having made princess Ouk Phalla to order the prince to do her bidding anyway she wants, especially in the changing of government position [of government officials], demotion of government officials in the ministries. Having thought about this, a number of Chumteavs led by Phang decided to organize the voodoo session to chase away the Cham devil spell so that princess Phalla can return back home.

The voodoo master jumped up and down while whirling around the wig, his eyes were fixed on the photo of princess Phalla as he recited: “Get out, get out, devils”. He then told the audience that there will be no more problem, the Cham voodoo master cannot fight with his power. Therefore from that day on, nobody can hurt [the princess] anymore.

Samdech Krom Preah Norodom Ranariddh was the former president of the National Assembly who dropped out of the package, he is currently the president of Funcinpec party, and his luck is constantly diminishing. His latest drop in luck made him lose his position as president of the National Assembly, and he could see his name forgotten from the political scene in the near future. The current internal dissension within the party in the last few days, is a serious problem because a number of loyal [party] officials are not pleased with princess Ouk Phalla. The dissenters within Funcinpec claimed that this woman is poking her hands too much in the work of Samdech Krom Preah.

Therefore, the current Funcinpec lackluster is mainly caused by princess Ouk Phalla
