Respected KI-Media Readers,
With the fast approaching 31st anniversary of the take over of Cambodia by the Khmer Rouge on April 17, 1975, and the ensuing genocide of almost 2 million Cambodian people, the memories of pain and suffering still linger in many of us who have been traumatized by that savage and brutal period. However, to a younger generation born after the invasion of Vietnam on Cambodia, the Khmer Rouge episode simply sounds like an unbelievable horror tale even though the event only occurred slightly over 30 years ago.
In memory of those who had lost their lives under the hands of the Khmer Rouge regime, and those who have suffered greatly under this evil regime, KI-Media is soliciting our readers to share their life experience, memories, miseries under the Khmer Rouge regime. We thought that the experience sharing would provide those who have suffered some degree of catharsis, some expression of their grief which they have carried with them in the past 30 years. On the other hand, reading the shared experience under the Khmer Rouge would also allow a younger Cambodian generation to understand the feelings of an older generation towards the evil that mankind can do unto another.
