... But Funcinpec party in the East Coast of the USA claims not to know the dissident organizer - Confusion reigns within F'pec

In an undated letter written with a letterhead from Cambodia (rather than from the USA) distributed by Ek Em, Funcinpec party president in the East Coast of the USA, the latter claimed that he and all Funcinpec party members in the US have never seen or heard about Ros Son. Lu Lay Sreng, Funcinpec quota minister in the Hun Sen government, claims from Phnom Penh that he knows Ros Son and the other two persons who signed a petition demanding Funcinpec party members to regroup behind prince Ranariddh (see Cambodge Soir article above). It appears that confusion reigns within the Funcinpec party, not to mention Mr. Ek Em's inability to tell where he actually wrote his letter from. A translation of Ek Em's letter above into English is provided below.

I, Ek Em, the president of the Funcinpec party in the East Cost of the USA, and all party members, are informing the following:

We are totally refuting the fake call for a Funcinpec congress organized by Mr. Ros Son in Lowell, New York, and other location.

I and all party members are informing that: we have never seen and never know Ros Son, how come Ros Son dare claim that he is Funcinpec representative in the USA? Is he making this call in order to disunite [the party]?

I and party members in the East Coast of the USA, are always supporting the decisions of Prince Norodom Ranariddh, Funcinpec party president, and we are abiding by all the decisions made by the party committee forever in order to preserve the territorial integrity and the population of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

May the Funcinpec party always meet with victory and progress.
