Two prison guards are being investigated over Sunday morning's escape from Prey Sar prison, in which 12 inmates, including a former police officer charged with intentional killing, reportedly climbed out of their second floor cell window using mosquito nets and blankets tied together. Mao Sophearum, assistant director of the Interior Ministry's Prison Department said that Interior Ministry police officers had questioned five guards so far and that three had been allowed back to work on Wednesday. The two remaining under interrogation were on duty at the time of the break. Mao Sophearum said. Mok Chito, Interior Ministry deputy penal police chief, said the 12 escapees were still at large, and that provincial policemen and the Penal Police were cooperating in the search. The escapees include Phnom Penh's former municipal criminal section deputy police chief Hang Vuthy, who was charged in February with killing municipal court judge Sok Sethamony. The judge was gunned down in 2003.
