Royalist FUNCINPEC party officials were chosen Friday as National Assembly's secretariat officials by ruling CPP, after joining the CPP several years ago, say CPP officials.
CPP's financial and banking committee chairman, Chiem Yiep says at the CPP headquarter that there was a warm up session by the National Assembly's CPP committee leadership for about 170 new CPP members, including not less than 50 from FUNCINPEC party, who joined the CPP, during and after FUNCINPEC's President, Prince Ranariddh was the National Assembly's president.
Other members are the National Assembly's officials not tied to any political party who served there for 4-5 years, and some are students who were chosen to work there.
Mr. Chiem says that those officials have the right to do whatever they choose to do.
FUNCINPEC party won the 1993 election brokered by the U.N. as first party. However, successing terms prove to be a loss of popularity for this party after frequent internal splits.
Mr. Nhek Bun Chhay cannot be reached for comments.
FUNCINPEC quota's Secretary of State Leng Peng Long does not deny or agree to the fact that some of his party members defect to the CPP as National Assembly's secretariat officials, saying he is not aware of that. If it were a fact, Mr. Leng says that this is their rights, and that he has no comments.
Opposition Sam Rainsy party legislator Eng Chhay Eang says that those officials, while defecting to the CPP, still want justice, and they want something.

What does AH CHEAM YAP know anything monetary policy? This Vietcong trained economist want to spend more money which AH HUN SEN government don't even have! Now with 170 new CPP members to join National Assembly and the fuck AH CHEAM YAP is going to find the money to pay for these drones? Why do Cambodian people continue to pay these mother fuckers just to raise their hand and still Cambodia don't any anti-corruption law on the book? This whole shit doesn't make sense!
I suggest AH CHEAM YAP should be more concerned about passing anti-corruption because it makes more economic sense! AH CHEAM YAP should understand that Cambodian government need to be more streamline to be more efficient!
When I hear people cursing at each other, I believe that there is a lot of disappointment in their mind.
Why dissappointment?
CambodianS must look and analyse.
People want to see an anti-corruption law.
Why does it take that long to get it OUT.
Again to Cambodians, you have all the power to change your country. If you don't like what the Goverment do you can "VOTE" them out.
Don't be inactive.
Do something.
Nobody can change if you all Cambodians CANNOT make up your mind.
If you like corruption, vote for the corrupt people. If you don't like it, next time don't vote for them.
AGAIN YOU ARE THE POWER, if you know how to use it.
iF you vote for the wrong people, next time change it.
I said fuck the voting system! AH HUN SEN used voting system to his advantage by using money to buy vote from poor people and the corrupted politicians!
This is called for arm struggle!
I hate the fact that our govt official feel no urge at all to pass the anti corruption bill or do anything at all to improve the dire state of the country. They put thier own welfare before the country's.Its thier Lexus first before the peasant's tummy. These people are a disgrace.
