The search for the arrest of former Phnom Penh police chief only yields up to now that General Heng Pov could maybe still remain in Singapore.

General Keo Vanthan, deputy director of the Cambodian Interpol, said that if [Heng Pov] stay in Singapore beyond the extent of his visa, he could be arrested by the host country, this will allow Cambodia to bring him back to face justice.

Keo Vanthan said: “There is no information indicating that [Heng Pov] left Singapore yet, if they (Singapore authorities) find out that he stay beyond his limit, it is an immigration offense, and he could be expelled out. I believe that if he (Heng Pov) commits an offense overseas, he can be arrested and we will bring him back home to judge him.”

On Friday, the lawyer of the former Phnom Penh police chief said that General Heng Pov is planning to exhaust all legal means to fight against extradition sending him back to Cambodia from his host country.

Heng Pov is also planning to make new revelations and provide important proofs on a number of criminal acts perpetrated by senior Cambodian government officials.
