Cambodian government's leader Tuesday threatens to remove his ministers from their positions if they go to welcome home a leader believed to be Prince Norodom Ranariddh, royalist FUNCINPEC party leader, saying that no armed forces will be deployed for protection.
Prince Ranariddh left Cambodia last March after leaving his position as National Assembly's President, after Prime Minister Hun Sen's Cambodian People's Party (CPP) and opposition Sam Rainsy party (SRP) join together to use the "50+1" formula to form a new government for the next term.
Later on many government and provincial officials from the FUNCINPEC party quota were removed from their positions, and have their positions changed by Mr. Hun Sen.
In an interview with VOA last week, the prince said that Mr. Hun Sen asked him to return soon and to unite his party.
Mr. Hun Sen reacts strongly to the prince's return at the 2006-2010 national development strategy, saying that the prince used the (VOA) interview to cite this return at his invitation, and that the prince left on his own accord, and that the prince should not wait for him to invite him to come back.
Mr. Hun Sen does not want deputy provincial governors and provincial governors to go and welcome the prince saying they have a lot of work to be done.
FUNCINPEC party top officials cannot be reached for comment.
FUNCINPEC party's legislator Maonh Saphan says that as prime minister, Mr. Hun Sen has the right to remove or change any officials he wants to, and that prince Ranariddh is scheduled to arrive in Siemreap on August 17.

I agreed with the first posting 100%. All Funcipec members must move foward by ignoring Animal Rannarith as leader if they want to show their new immage of new Blood. Rannarith is gone completely for all his corrupted practice, his betrayal to all his supporters, his unfaithful to his wife and his children for a young lover. His betrayal to his minister for stealing his minister'wife. Everyone must think of How much, Veng Sereyvuth has broken heart for loosing his beautiful wife stolen by his boss.

I think I have to agree with Hun Sen for this one because Ranaridh is useless now. He has no face. He has held no position in the government; he's just a member of parlaiment like everyone else the same as the opposition party. No need to bring a national guard or the army. Ranaridh and his body guard is good enought. Furthermore, the prince or the Pret should resign from the position because he is corrupted and promoted immoral in Cambodia society. He is committed scandal with his colleague minister wife. We want good moral and healthy mentality in Cambodia, so be one. Especially, when you are representing the democracy society. We demand you step down now!
Yah, i agree with the above comments and uncle Sen's speechhhhhhhhzzzzzz. We clearly know that "hell might needs and awaits for stinky pret rannaridzzzzzz but not Khmer people or Cambodia". Other prets in hell would welcome him with huge fire sites....
Hey, I saw what he did late last year during the SEAGames (South East Asia Games) held in the Philippines. He brought here his young lover, Sereyvuth's ex-wife. The crying cat or pret along with his lover and other prets (princes) stayed in Hyatt hotel, Manila. It's a very costly accommodation. Cambodia won no gold medal under his bedsheets.
Hell is your palace, pret lit pong rannnaridzzz...but be sure not to bring others with you, ok??
Hun Sen is a dog and will be forever a dog. He does not care about Cambodians in general. He's a crook. He lies..lies...
