Funcinpec Rural Development Minister Lu laysreng is a "superstar" of potent masculinity who is contradicting himself in his criticism of royalist party President Prince Norodom Ranariddh, retired King Norodom Sihanouk announced Monday. At an Aug 22 press conference, Lu Laysreng called for the prince's removal as party leader. "'Star' is a feminine word but this concerns a gentlemen of potent gender, very potent even!" the former King quipped in a message that was posted to his Web site. "HE Lu (not [former French King] Louis XIV) wants to chase [Prince] Ranariddh from the FUNCINPEC presidency, from the National Assembly and from the 'royalist' Party all while saying he does not want to chase him away," the retired King wrote. Norodom Sihanouk also wrote that Prince Ranariddh could not take his mistress out of Cambodia, as Lu Laysreng urged the prince to do, because she is currently not in the country. "I don't see how she can leave the country without being here!" the retired King wrote. Lu Laysreng could not be reached for comment on Tuesday.
