Human Rights and Sam Rainsy party (SRP) officials claim authorities and dozens of villagers Monday disrupted the swearing in ceremony for four SRP village chiefs in Poipet, Banteay Meanchey.

The people who disrupted the ceremony organized by the SRP Poipot commune councilmen, are believed to be supporters of the ruling party namely the Cambodian People's Party.

Despite the disruption, the ceremony was held successfully. Mr. Sam Rainsy who participated in the ceremony, says this action is a common threat in Cambodia, and that the leadership should not interfere.

The opposition party president says what his party does is legal. He said he urged the elected commune village chiefs to serve the people, be bi-partisan and not to discriminate anyone.

Among the eleven village chiefs who were elected in the recent local election, 4 are from the opposition party.

The 4 SRP village chiefs are not officially recognized as the winners. They were accused of being outsiders who do not live in the village.

A day before the swear-in ceremony, Banteay Mean Chey authorities told the Poipet commune hall to delay the ceremony and wait for a decision from the Ministry of the Interior.

Banteay Mean Chey's provincial governor, Mr. On Sum denies the charges about the threats and the alleged disruption. He says that the Ministry of Interior has not given the green lights to have an election in the four villages.

Investigator from the Cambodia Center for Human Rights (CCHR) in Banteay Meanchey, Peng Sok Seng acknowledges there were some disruption.

The Ministry of Interior spokesman, Mr. Khieu Sopheak cannot be reached for comment.

CPP is using Pol Pot strategy of paying meagre salary to all government officials so that they can control their lives easily. Cambodian must stand up to this kind of anti-human organisation by fighting hard on corruption, digging all their ill-management of the national economy, unashame stolen public monies and properties. They must diligently dare to ask all CPP to sign their authorisation for all the banks around the world to declare their deposits worldwide.

I say anything in life if you put your sweat and blood and you earn it and most likely you will keep it! The democracy in Cambodia is no different! The fight for democracy in Cambodia is an uphill battle and once Cambodia has democracy and Cambodia will keep democracy and no Vietcong are going to stop it!

I can't disagree, but before we get to that point, Anon@5:14A.M., what are we going to do about the guestimated 4 millions plus of Viets that are already on Khmer land, naturalized and ready to vote anytime for Ah Viet dog Hun Sen and his cronies? Grab a slingshot (jompearm kao sou) and shoot them in the butt and tell them to get out?
___

To 8:05AM

I reason that Cambodian government can't kick all the Viet out as long as AH HUN SEN still in power! Cambodian should come up with a system that is similar with American system! All these Viet are getting Cambodian citizen the easy way that is through the use of money to buy their Cambodian citizenship and so the Viet will never feel special being Khmer! I want all these Viet to earn the hard way to become Cambodian citizen!

If the Viet citizen are more interest in destroy Cambodia and helping AH HUN SEN to commit injustice against Cambodian people then there is no reason to keep these Viet!

Just deport all the Viet! Civilize nations around the world use deportation all the time!

So you are asking who will deport all these Viet? I honestly Cambodian government must deport all these illegal Viet! The Viet broke Cambodian immigration law in the first place and why give them special treatment? Let me put this in another way! If a robber broke into your house and what would you do? Are you going to chase him out?

Right now AH YOUN feel cheap to be Khmer! Simply put AH YOUN feel cheap to be Khmer and that is why they have no respect for the Khmer even they are already live in Cambodia!Do you think AH YOUN afraid of Cambodian police in Cambodia? Of course not!I am sure a few YOUN out there want to coexist peacefully with Khmer! But what AH HUN SEN doing right now is treason and to allowed all these Viet to buy Cambodian citizenship and recognize their community association in Cambodia will only cause more problems! Remembered! AH HUN SEN will not recognized any Khmer Krom community association Cambodia! I mean Khmer like AH HUN SEN don't even recognize another Khmer and this mean only one thing that being Khmer is cheaper than dirt!AH HUN SEN is a fucken look down mother fucker on his country men! Khmer don't even feel special for being Khmer under AH HUN SEN!

Do you know the concept now?
