Mith Samlanh/Friends Campaigns To Keep Site
By Elizabeth Tomei and Kuch Naren THE CAMBODIA DAILY
In a bid to keep their center near the National Museum, Mith Samlanh/Friends is launching a campaign to raise the nearly $3 million needed to buy the site that is up for sale, the NGO's founder Sebastien Marot said Wednesday. The campaign will be launched on Friday at Friends the Restaurant and will be followed by "Dining Out for Friends," a fundraiser where a dozen restaurants around the city have pledged to donate a portion of their profits from the evening to the campaign. Most of the cost to buy the property will be covered by a bank loan, but some $500,000 still needs to be raised, Marot said.
