Cambodian PM Reaffirms Commitment To One-china Policy

(Xinhua) Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen on Tuesday again reaffirmed its country's commitment to stick to the one-China policy, just three days after Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao concluded his two-day official visit to Cambodia.

"We always pursue our one-China policy and insist that Taiwan is an inalienable part of the Chinese territory," the Premier said at an opening ceremony for a South Korean cable factory in Phnom Penh.

"We oppose Taiwan independence in any form, and consider Taiwan as a province of China and support all efforts made by the Chinese government in safeguarding sovereignty and territorial integrity," he said.

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao arrived here Friday for a two-day official visit to Cambodia at the invitation of his Cambodian counterpart Hun Sen.

During Wen's visit, both sides inked nearly dozen economic and technical cooperation agreements and documents, and pledged about 600 million U.S. dollars in grants and loans to the country.

China reiterated its commitment to continue to provide assistance without any preconditions to developing countries including Cambodia.

The Premier said, "China talks less and does a lot."

During the talks, Wen and PM Hun Sen also pledged to establish and develop a comprehensive partnership of cooperation between the two countries.
