The vice-president of Funcinpec president office denied the information claiming that there was a new coup attempt inside the party perpetrated by high ranking party officials who are disillusioned with the leadership of Prince Norodom Ranariddh, the current party president, who is accused of leading the once popular royalist party to its doom.
Chea Chanboribo, the personal spokesman of Prince Ranariddh, said that the gossips on the internal division of Funcinpec are nothing more than a new sabotage in an attempt to divide a party that already has a strong structure.
Chea Chanboribo said: “The information talking about this or that group is an information sabotage to create internal division within Funcinpec, or it could be spread to incite situation changes because they saw that Funcinpec has strong structure, organization, and bylaws which form a basis so that no one can counteract the Funcinpec bylaws, and internal regulations. Because they are worried of these issues, they are creating this sabotage.”
At the end of September, a denial was issued on the information claiming that Princess Marie Ranariddh, Prince Ranariddh’s wife, was invited to take the leadership of the party in replacement of her husband. A new takeover attempt rumor was recently spread among political observers and news media in the past few days.
The rumor claimed that Princess Arunrasmy [or Arun Rasmey, the youngest daughter of King-Father and currently, Cambodian ambassador to Malaysia] was asked to take over the presidency of the party, while General Nhiek Bun Chhay would become the party first vice-president, and minister Lu Laysreng would become the second vice-president.

I wonder if the sex appeal of Princess Arunrasmy can solve all the bickering within the FUNSINSEX party. I heard that Cambodian politician especially men will only listen to a beautiful woman.

Any one can do better job than Ranarith. What kind of leader is he? He always out of the country. Is he work for Cambodian or for Malaisia or Frencs? If he wants to do work for Cambodian he shall pay attention to Cambodian issues. Help them. They voted for you many times. I hope he realize the needs of a politician in any country. Politicians stand for party principles. What is in Ranarith mind?
Only royalty would name their kids Arun Rasmey, I haven't heard many of us Khmers thought about giving such name to our children. What is wrong with us?
