1- One “overseas” KHMER KROM group had announced “to the world” that is will form an autonomous Government of the liberated and independent Kampuchea Krom.
I did not follow the path of this famous Government to which rejoining (or better yet -> returning back) the Kampuchea Krom to Kampuchea Leu (Cambodia) is out of the question.
I do not recall the country (France? USA?) where this Khmer Krom Government is established. What has it done or did since its formation? Furthermore, what is its structure?
2- Currently, to the eyes of an increasing number of Khmer from the current Cambodia, POL POT and TA MOK are two national Heroes and Gods who are befitted for paying tribute to, through pilgrimage, candle and incense offering, etc… Mr. POL POT, when he was the Caesar or Alexander-The-Great or Napoleon I of Kampuchea, had the highly patriotic heroism to send to South Vietnam his great Army of the Democratic Kampuchea (Khmer Rouge) in order to liberate the Kampuchea Krom and return it back to within the great Cambodia. Result: counter offensive by the SRV [Socialist Republic of Vietnam] which, in 1979, colonized our Cambodia – “the new Angkor Homeland” – and returned back our national Independence [only] in 1989/1990.

Hey your stupid Sihanouk! this group of people that formed in a sort of external government is to help their fellow countrymen to resist from the opression of the Vietnamese which your have fail to do and it was resulted from your parent/grand parent, so just shut up and dont't jealus when you see the little people could better tha you of member of your family.
Remeber Kamuchea Kfom was lost in your leadership all khmers will put that fact in our future history that Sihanouk is the destoyer of the Cambodian nation.
The King's statement is a general statement about Khmer krom people is very offending to me. As a Khmer krom I do not support the Killing of my Khmer kandal, khmer leu brothers by the ruthless Pol Pot, Ta Mok and king himself.
I do not see the people who brought suffering to any khmer as a hero. The only Hero that Khmer Krom people have are Governor Son Kuy, resisted against Vietnamese imposing of their culture on Khmer, was excuted in order that Khmer Krom may practice our religion.
Thach Ngoc Thach, a well known politician that fought for Khmer/Cambodia's indepedence from French, but Sihanouk was jealous he was afraid someone would get indepdence for Cambodian instead of himself. no fame.
And the many other Khmer krom person and past that [b]sacrafice their own life [/b] for benefit of their khmer brothers.
But to agree one thing with him, this exile probably has no structure. No one has any idea who they are or where they come from really. For us Khmer krom here, in U.S. this group just seem to pop out of nowhere.
Its not about the race b/w this group and KKF for independence like other say should be going on. KKF work not for independent the main goal is practicality, the human rights and rights that are entitled to all citizens of the world. But independent is an option that KKF is looking forward to explore if it is possible, that why they had the forum at Holland late this year.
What does this new group do for Khmer? I appeal that this group and all group who wish to support khmerkrom brother at home to help support finacially the KKF federation who need help when they go to UN and other International participation. KKF is the ONLY Khmer Krom organization that has international participation and recognition.
I hope that Khmer people work together to support KKF

I'm not Khmer Krom but happy for them. I admire their courage, they are one of the smartest and brighty people. I hope that I will be a live to see their success.

No matter what this group do. At least, they are doing something to let the world know who are Khmer Krom peope.They want the world to know the hardship of their daily life under the Vietcong governmant oppression.
King Father, whatever the points you try to make, but I think you are lacking of your knowledge about Khmer Krom people. Especially, about how feel as a Khmer Krom people.
I think this king is lunatic. I am not a khmer krom, although, I have friends whose parents are Khmer Kampuchea Krom. They are great people like Khmer Leur; we have the same language, culture, food, blood. I am very proud of the strugling and determination for their independence. I hope they will suceed one day.
Sihanouk is an old Lion wating for his last meal from a Lioness. He is afraid of Vietcong because, he is traumatized from the cold war. He claimed " Pol Pot and Tamok are two national heroes" and compared them to " Alexander the great or Napoleon". Let me correct this. Pol Pot or Tamok is no match or comparable to Alexander the Great or Napoleon. Pol Pot killed his own people and at the time declared war with Vietnam. That was the most stupid idea Pol Pot has done for Cambodia in history.
Sihanouk, the world has changed so much after the colapse of the cold war. Many countries in this entire world become independent for example, Kosavo, East Timor, Slovania just to name a few. Khmer Kampuchea Krom should be in the same category. They are belong to the land of Khmer Krom. Shut up!! Sihanouk.

You were right. Pol Pot was an illusion man. He starved us to death and allowed nearly 2 millions of us to die or be killed just about every reason that stood in his way. He was a psyco man. He thought or you thought( Old King ) that he was Alexander the great or Napoleon, but he was not and you are wrong. You are also wrong about your adopted son Hun Sen too. He brought Vietcong to our land, all because he was an opportunist and perhaps all was to teach you and Mr. Pol Pot that he cann't be trusted and you still do. Pol Pot lost his life like animal in the jungle and who cares?
Hun Sen wants power, oil money and who know may be King someday. That is all the man is. He was born to want more and he was born to succeed. He is Hun Sen and he is a very lucky man!

Many Chineses living in Vietnam have gone thru similar situation of force assimilation or meaning, they have been forced to do thing that The Viet government wanted them do to.
One thing I know for the fact, those Chineses have to change their last names to Nguyen, Ho, Truong...etc in order to find work or survive in Vietnam.
It's a lot easier than us for them to do so, because they are more / less to be considered true citizen of Vietnam?
Thru our private eyes, many of those Chineses have found their way to get higher education, well paying jobs and very sucessful.
Right now, We see similar attitude of The Hun Sen Government, but do they have to take order from The viet when they are in our own very land?

Thank to King Sihanouk for keeping Cambodia as neutral country for so long with a very short peace and stability not to mention killing the Khmer people in the million! How can King Sihanuok brought up the concept of Cambodia to win over the Vietcong to liberate the Khmer Krom? If Cambodia was not a neutral country and allowed to equip with weapon from the begining of time, it is possible even without the Khmer Rouge to liberate the Khmer Krom from the Vietcong!
Who would be stupid enough to think that a neutral country like Cambodia with no weapon and force go to war to win over the Vietcong who had been equiped with weapon from Russia and China, and the good U.S.A?
From now on Cambodian don't need neutrality anymore it is like asking Cambodia to a hooker all over again!
