A Malaysian court on Friday postponed a decision on whether to deport former Phnom Penh police chief Heng Pov until Nov 9, a lawyer for Cambodia's most famous fugitive said. High Court Judge Abdul Kadir Musa granted attorney N Sivananthan's request for an adjournment as he had only been allowed to meet with his client for this first time on Thursday. Heng Pov is currently being detained by Royal Malaysian police in Kuala Lumpur following his Oct 3 arrest for overstaying his entry pass. "I met with him [on Thursday] and I’ll be meeting him again on Monday," Sivananthan said by telephone. Heng Pov has been convicted in Cambodia of killing a municipal court judge in 2003. He has responded with his own allegations of corruption and murder at top levels of the Cambodian government.
