The Sam Rainsy Party (SRP) today accused the second court summon for this upcoming Monday, of its first ranking candidate, and current SRP Boeung Salang Sangkat chief, as new political trick and disinformation schemed by the ruling party to get the election advantage during the upcoming commune/sangkat election.
Ho Vann, SRP Phnom Penh MP, said that the court summon is a new trick used to discourage candidates from the opposition party: “I believe that this is a political disinformation, an incitement act to prevent our first [opposition] candidate who is very popular, from being a candidate for the second time.”
Touch Meng Sreang, SRP Boeung Salang Sangkat chief who has been summoned by the court, declared that he did not perpetrate the action he was accused of. In fact, he only asked to review the document and talk with Chhun Vanna, whom he suspected of not being a Cambodian citizen, this was done under the framework of Touch Meng Sreang’s duty as local sangkat chief.
Touch Meng Sreang said: “I have nothing to worry about. I do not fear because I did not commit any mistake, we did not commit any error. If they want to violate [our rights], they will arrest me for political reason in order to make SRP suffer, let them do it.”
On 12 Oct 2006, during the period for the vote registration verification, and the election registration, Touch Meng Sreang suspected about Chhun Vanna and his wife [who registered to vote] were not Cambodian citizens. He asked the couple to come into an office to ask more questions and to make a copy of the couple’s [registration] documents. Suddenly, Chhun Vanna’s wife stood up and yanked the document out of the copying machine while Chhun Vanna went to hold Touch Meng Sreang from behind. The couple then came outside the office and started shouting that Touch Meng Sreang was using violence against them.
The second court summon was issued by the Phnom Penh municipal court and was signed by Judge Ke Sakhorn. The summon does not specify who is the accuser in the lawsuit.
Tep Nytha of the National Election Committee (NEC) said that his office has not yet decided to remove the candidacy of Touch Meng Sreang from the Boeung Salang candidate list, as long as the court has not yet taken any decision, even if the accused will appeal his case, or will take it to the supreme court.

Once again, the Cambodian court is proving to be unlawful and a joke.
Ask Mr. Keo Remy what to do....Maybe more praising of the PM is needed in term of favorable legislation.

It is rather easy to SAY than DONE . In the philippine,the people power was succeed because they have the Army back them up. Whereas khmers, they have NO such luck. Moreover, HUN SEN is a pure breed street smart politician. Just take a look at the situation in Cambodia right now . The court received his orders, the assembly is ready to do anything he's askig for, the military and the police force are his, the king is his robot toy, with his connection to TEP VONG,he is getting all the monks lining up for his defense,. He is able to foul the world by making them believe that Cambodia is free and democratic, and he managed to win election every time with fraud and intimidations , he made friends with neighboring countries to protect his regime. It is phenomenon. How can anybody top that. It is impossible. The only thing that can overtake him is emphysema. And that's it....

Be careful what you asked for or bragged about. Nothing is permanent, so you need to appreciate the law of KAMA from today. As an old saying "What goes up must come down" and Hun Sen as well other dictators/killers will receive the same share. He can be shot to death by just his own pistol.
If not for him it will drop on his own children, the death and sufferings cannot be avoided for us human beings. You too, you must watch your step.
