An RCAF soldier opened fire on a group of brawling gangsters in Phnom Penh on Sunday night, killing a bystander, police said. Kim Tola, 30, was standing guard at an RCAF general's compound in Dangkao district, when gang members began arguing and throwing rocks, said deputy district police chief Chuop Sok Heng. Kim Tola opened fire four times on the brawlers with a rifle and a stray bullet hit Nas Hor, 23, in the chest while he was playing pool 20 meters away, he said. Prak Sitharat, a district military police officer, said the gunman escaped, and police are currently hunting him.
