Documents from the era are not lacking in the Archives of the French government and in the national libraries in France, they show very clearly that Preah Ang Fuong wrote to France not to place Cambodia under the Protectorate of this latter. The august memory of Preah Ang Duong has no need to be defended. The letters that His Majesty, which France owns, are there to prove that our great revered King considered France as an Ally, a Friend.
