Oknha Tan Seng Hak involved in 60 land dispute cases

Phnom Penh – According to a source, after the detention of oknha Tan Seng Hak and 2 of his accomplices, the Phnom Penh municipality court received 60 complaints about Tan Seng Hak and 10 of his companions who had falsified documents regarding the 300-hectare of lands located in the Sangkat Phnom Penh Thmei, Khan Russei Keo.
The same source indicated that Tan Seng Hak, a former advisor to Chea Sim, and 10 of his companions have falsified documents to occupy the land owned by innocent victims, Cambodian and Chinese companies. Tan Seng Hak’s group was able to cheat people out of hundreds of hectares of land, without anybody daring to confront them.
The source indicated that some Cambodian companies had to stop all their activities, whereas, the Chinese companies had to pull back and return to their country because of the land dispute with Tan Seng Hak who colluded with a group of court officials before Chiv Keng, the current court Phnom Penh director, took over his position. During that time, Tan Seng Hak was able to create rain and shine as he wanted to, and he made up falsified documents to expropriate lands belonging to Cambodian and Chinese companies in any way he wanted. No only that, he also used Chea Sim’s name for his own benefit, and that of his group. However, Chea Sim never knew anything about Tan Seng Hak’s illegal activities, and even after knowing about the situation, Chea Sim did not intervene in this very hot affair, leaving the case to the Phnom Penh municipal court to take care of Tan Seng Hak and his group.
Another source from the Phnom Penh municipal court indicated that the court is currently issuing warrants for the arrest of Tan Seng Hak’s group of more than 10 persons who were involved by acting as witnesses and by falsifying private documents to cheat and take over several hundred hectares of land from other companies. The court action has received the support from the prime minister and Chiv Keng is currently undertaking the action.
Tan Seng Hak was arrested by police officers of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) on 22 March at the Washington Hotel and Karaoke, located in Sangkat Prek Leab, Khan Russeir keo. On 23 March, the MoI sent Tan Seng Hak to the Phnom Penh municipal court for questioning. The arrest of Tan Seng Hak was conducted with a warrant issued by the Phnom Penh municipal court. Tan Seng Hak was questioned by one of Chiv Keng’s judge for more than an hour before and Chiv Keng decided to issue a temporary detention order on Tan Seng Hak at the Prey Sar jail, while awaiting for an investigation. Later on, two other persons were also arrested: one is Tan Seng Hak’s uncle, and another person close to him. The pair were sent to Prey Sar jail also. Perpetrating crime does not pay.
