Phnom Penh, March 20, 2007 Sam Rainsy Frees Workers From Vietnamese Fishing Boats
Seven Khmer workers aged 17 to 30 years were freed by Sam Rainsy MP, in Kompong Luong commune, Kokor district, Pursat province in the afternoon of March 20, 2007.
Informed of the SRP campaign led by Sam Rainsy in the commune, one of the seven workers rushed to Sam Rainsy to alert him of other workers, forced to stay on the fishing boat by the boat owner, one of many hundreds of Vietnamese fishermen and boat owners on the Tonle Sap River.
The workers who were freed today are currently staying at the SRP headquarter in Pursat town.
More than 70% of residents of Kompong Luong commune are Vietnamese fishermen who bought the right to fish from local authorities who provide them total protection.

A job that just to have food to eat for a day and have no right to go for vote in their communities is not a job, it is a slave. Mr.Sam Rainsy prevented this irregularity thing to happen to those poor Khmer peoples and that's what a leader suppose to do on the election day. It is the reasonable way to protect an individual khmer's right to go to their own communities for voting.
By the way, in the west if someone like you would love to be a congressman, a senator or to be a CEO in any company you need to earn it by the value of your knowledgeable combining with your year of experiences--It meant the education here is a key for this kind of positions. Not buy a fack Ph.D Paper like a few man did it in Srok Khmer.

A chance to go to vote in a election day at their communities is a reasonable way for individual khmer's rights and if someone prevented them not to go to vote becuase of the job that is something not right.
If a capable leader who responsible and take care of Cambodians'need, most khmers will have a decent job which could improve their living condition by now; But that not the case in Cambodia.
Viet(Youn) such as the fishing company in Tole Sap, the Sokimex at Angkor Siam Reap, the plantation in easthern provinces and now viet petro on negotiating with Cambodian govr-ment are controled a bunch of our khmers'land resoure for thier own benefical. What will Khmers have in the future --work for them as a slave in our own home land and have litle food to eat for just only day to day? We try to remind Khmer leader and to some cambodian like you to wake up in order to smell a real coffee in your own back yard. You think the Viet will creat jobs for khmers and let khmers have a good life better than them?. Think again my friend!!
