Cambodia 'snubs' UN rights envoy [- Sam Rainsy urged other officials into talks with the envoy]

UN human rights envoy, Yash Ghai, has arrived in Cambodia with officials threatening to ignore the visit as relations deteriorate.

Mr Ghai is a Kenyan lawyer who has clashed repeatedly with Cambodian officials in the past.

He has told reporters he "would like some reactions" to the rights report he will make early next month ahead of a key donor meeting.

But senior leaders have said it is "pointless" to talk with Mr Ghai, who so far has no confirmed meetings with government officials.

Mr Ghai has prompted anger over his blunt assessments of Cambodia's reform failures.

National Assembly President Heng Samrin says he thinks it's "pointless" for officials to meet with him as "he has already produced twisted information."

He says Mr Ghai is unreliable and has exaggerated his abuse claims.

Claims of systematic rights abuses

Mr Ghai's last report accused the government of using systematic rights violations to remain in power, saying it was deliberately refusing to improve its record.

His earlier, similarly harsh reports sparked angry outbursts from government officials, including Prime Minister Hun Sen who demanded that Mr Ghai be sacked.

Relations between the government and UN rights envoys have historically been poor, with Hun Sen calling Mr Ghai's predecessor, Peter Leuprecht, "stupid" - a term he also used to describe Mr Ghai, along with "rude" and a "god without virtue."

But opposition leader Sam Rainsy says he plans to meet with Mr Ghai because Cambodia's human rights situation is worsening, and urged other officials into talks with the envoy.

He says cases of human rights abuses include "land grabbing, the tearing down of houses and removal of poor people."

Shut up, 2:31. Read my finding.

Hey Folks, I have just done some
background check on Ah stupid
Kenyan (Ghai). He's such a losers.
He has no success story outside
the university and textbooks.
He was appointed a Chaiman of
the Kenyan's Constitution Commision
to draft and review the Kenyan's
new constitution and he failed
flat on this face. He spread bad
words about people who work with
him and they forced him to resign,
hahaha, LOL, hahaha. Here's a brief:

"Kenya: Minister intervenes in CKRC stalemate

Kenya's Minister for Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Kiraitu Murungi, has poured water on reports that there are problems within the Constitution of Kenya Review Commission (CKRC), saying the commission will neither be disbanded nor trimmed and that it will continue incurring expenditure. The East African Standard says he was speaking after a stormy meeting where 26 commissioners are reported to have reprimanded their chairman, Professor Yash Pal Ghai, for allegedly circulating malicious stories about them in the media. Some commissioners claimed they had won only part of the battle with Ghai and that they would strive to ensure that the commission completed its work with or without him. Major differences at the commission apparently emerged after it was reported that Ghai was working with a shadow commission, under the auspices of the Institute of Economic Affairs." - http://www.legalbrief.co.za/publication/archives.php?mode=archive&publication=Legalbrief_Africa&issueno=11&format=html

What is a fucken loud mouth

psychological personality disorder.
Thus, I call on the UN to have him
undergoes a psychological test.

Also, I like to advice our guys
not to work with a loser like Ghai.
