Funcinpec moved its huge headquarters which was located next to the French Embassy on Monday. Funcinpec decided to rent a small office which used to be a clinic located on Norodom Boulevard, and the ownership of old headquarters was surrendered to Ly Chhuong, the son-in-law of Chiem Yeap, the CPP MP. Nhiek Bun Chhay, Funcinpec secretary-general, told The Cambodia Daily that his party must pay $4,000 per month in rent for the new party headquarters which used to be a Taiwanese clinic. Nouv Sovathero, Funcinpec spokesman, said: “We left with pain.” Nouv Sovathero said that his party cannot keep its old headquarters because Prince Ranariddh already sold it. Muth Chantha, NRP spokesman, mocked the move by saying that this is an omen for the upcoming end of Funcinpec. Muth Chantha told The Cambodia Daily that Funcinpec can no longer grow, it is finished politically.
