Following an absence from the country of more than one year, Princess Norodom Vacheara, who is a Funcinpec MP, returned back home this month. On Sunday, she said that she plans on requesting Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly, to take 2-month off of work to take care of her health because she is still sick. According to report, it appears the princess has some heart ailment. Princess Vacheara said that after the 2008 general election, she will stop all political involvement and she will turn her attention to humanitarian and social work instead. Princess Vacheara is the older sister of Prince Norodom Sirivuth who is also Funcinpec MP. A few days earlier, news media reported that Funcinpec plans to remove the princess and her brother from their position at the National Assembly, however the party’s spokesman denied this report.
