SJFP merges with NRP

Prince Sisowath Thomico, the delegate-general of the Sangkum Jatiniyum Front Party, said on 27 May that his party is announcing the transfer of his party members to the NRP, with the aim of uniting royalists.

The prince added that as a first phase of the merger between the two parties, the SJFP leadership will be integrated into the NRP structure, and SJFP members at the local levels will be integrated into the NRP next.

Prince Thomico said: “It’s certain that the integration of the SJFP into the NRP is a first step. Next, we must unite with another royalist party: the Funcinpec, for example. When the royalist families are united again, then we must do all we can to unite with other parties which follow a policy … in order to provide hope to the Cambodian people. In the future, we will organize our country and nation in a manner that will be different from the current governing system.”

Muth Chantha, NRP spokesman, said that the merger of the SJFP and the NRP is an idea of Prince Ranariddh, NRP president, because the latter prince wants to unite all the royalists with the aim of competing in the upcoming 2008 general election also.

Mutch Chantha said: “The gathering of the external forces is a goal of any political party. Furthermore, for this gathering of forces, we mainly aim it towards the royalists, those who love royalism, and all the democrats. I am stressing that this opening is not just for this time only, it will be pursued into the future as well, we will welcome members of the Funcinpec party who used to support Prince Ranariddh when he was Funcinpec historical president, and the prince welcomes with great happiness all members who want to participate in the royalist family under the aegis of the NRP.”

Prince Thomico noted that even though the SJFP merges with the NRP, the name of the SJFP will still be preserved in the Ministry of Interior register, the only difference is that, now, SJFP will no longer conduct any activity. This preservation is done just in case something would happen to the NRP in the future, then at that time, the SJFP will become active again.

Ranaridh should have thought about saving the country a long time ago, at which time he had the power to make the difference. It is too late now after all the powers are lost. Go back to Malaysia, France, and whatever country you always run to.

I hope this kind of merging will be a symbol of national reconciliation for the younger generation.

I don`t support any old generation politicians in Cambodian and the old generation commentaries in this blog, who know only to blame. For example they blame Pol Pot of genocide; actually, all of them brang Pol Pot to power with their brainless belief.

To me Ranarith and Thomico are nothing but the prove better than Hun Sen.

I heard all of you said Ranarith loves srey sray and run. But he is better than Hun Sen who loves srey sra, gun and Yuon.

I think you support Hun Sen because you want the leader who has led the country from plain hand to owing trillions dollars to the internaional community, which all you guys living ouside Cabmdodia will never pay even a single of your money.

Frankly, this merger is a good move, but the aim of the royalists is for one reason and one reason only that is to restore and glorify the royal's prestige once again after it was completely destroyed by old Sihanouk. This institution(royal) is undesirable in modern day khmer in fact it is very disgusting .It had dominated our lives(the reash) for centuries. They always think they are superbeing or god and we the people are nothing but garbage. For instance just listen to their language,<< preah ang mchas nis, preah ang mchas nos>>,i said ;preah ang mchas kbal ach.No more JOSE.Your era had gone or disappeared a long time ago. Thanks to the REPUBLICAN who initiated it.

Hey guys, have you toke a good look
at the picture of the scumbag
(Thomico)? It looks like he've lost
a lot of weight since he left the
Royal Palace. I think he's dying
from cancer, if not from burning
himself out trying to win the
national election, hehehe!!!

We should call "Prince-party"instead of royalist party. They don't represent young generation at all. Young generation need people that make change to the Country. What will those princes bring to the Country: Sahachivin, Chumteav,Chumted, Oknha, Excellemcies...Lut Krap, bow your heads...walk like duck....worst than HUn Sen...We need a Democratic Monarchy with simple royal protocols and leaders with a good leadership but not Hooligans or Maffiosis.

Ranarith is a hooligan too, but
very sneaky. He'll stabed you
in the back if you don't watch
over your shoulder. However, he's
not good enough to to oursmart
Khmer people. I hope he know better
now, and channel his energy into
helping the nation instead of
destroying it.
