Keo Nimol, the RFA reporter whom Hun Sen claimed on Wednesday that he was looking for an asylum from Bangkok, denied Hun Sen’s claim. Keo Nimol, whose real name is Um Sarin, who was labeled as an ‘insolent’ reporter by Hun Sen, wrote an email on Wednesday saying that he did not seek for asylum. Keo Nimol said that the reason he left the country was because he was afraid that someone could hurt him to please Hun Sen after the latter scolded him in public. Keo Nimol said that he is currently visiting relatives in Thailand, he will travel to Moscow next to attend a meeting organized by the International Journalist Forum. Khieu Sopheak, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, said that Keo Nimol has nothing to be concerned about Hun Sen’s scolding. Khieu Sopheak told The Cambodia Daily that: “he should not be afraid.”

Yes, that is what I have been
saying all along. There are all
sorts of loyalists in Cambodia and
people and journalist should
watch what they said to whoever
they don't know in srok khmer.
No one can control those people.

he should not be afraid. should he just wait to be killed?? how safe is Cambodia? just find out the previous killing cases first to prove that he should not be afraid, then he understands that at least the killers are brought to justice.

It will be very hard because we
don't have database of finger
prints. Therefore, even if we
got circumstancial evidences, it
aint gonna do us any good, unless
there are withness who can identify
the perpetratror. I believe most
of the perpetrators are currently
hiding in the wood near the border
so that they can cross the border
when someone come after them.
At least, that is what I would do.
