Koh Kong Province – 39-year-old Chea Soeun who was born in Prey veng province, and who is currently living in a rented home on Village No. 3, Mondul Seima district, Koh Kong province, was arrested by the anti-human trafficking police on 30 May 2007. She is accused of stealing Seng Chhovy, a 4-year-old boy, from the Dorng Tung market, and of attempting to sell the boy for 2,000 Bath (~$58) at the Cham Yeam village, Pak Khlorng commune.
The anti-human trafficking police said that on 27 may 2007, Seng Chhovy accompanied his grandmother from Prey Angkonh village, Trapeang Roung commune, Koh Kong district, to go to the Dorng Tung market. While Ho Mom – Seng Chhovy’s grandmother – was busy making purchases, Chea Soeun pulled the boy by his hand and took him away. When Seng Chhovy’s grandmother discovered that he was missing, she reported to the police and sent out her relatives to look for the boy.
The police said on 30 May 2007, the police encountered Chea Soeun holding a boy hand, going door to door, trying to sell him at Cham Yeam village for 2,000 Bath. The police then proceeded to arrest her. Chea Soeun confessed to the police that she is a widow, working to wash people’s clothes from home to home, she lives in a rented home on Pak Khlorng commune. Poverty forced her to steal the boy and to try to sell him off.
The police returned the boy to his grandmother, and Chea Soeun was sent to court.

Some time our same Cambodian nationals feel disgust and hate towards those who have committed wrong such as sell themselves for prostitution, trade daughters, begging, street smuggling and in case of this woman...etc
Regarding this same action, there are huge numbers of young children and youth are jailed in the prison. We don't see that they have been doing wrong at all, of course, the government has long time starved and unemployed them....they have been acting for life survival...this is so shameful for Hun Sen government is what I said is true!
Government should pay much attention and resort their thinking about those wrong-doing-poor-people.
