While Hun Sen begs donors for more aid ... poor Cambodian people are begging under the scorching sun as usual

A beggar asks for donations at a market in Phnom Penh June 20, 2007. Cambodia's international donors pledged $690 million in aid for 2007 on Wednesday, a 15 percent increase on the previous year that reflected recognition of government and economic reforms, a Cambodian official said. This beggar will benefit from the $700 million.

This is how it works.

Some of that money will end up in the pockets of the high-ranking officials.

Most of these have young mistresses who receive generous monthly allowances (because it is safer to have unprotected sex with them than to get new high-class hookers every week).

All these women do all day is sleep in, watch TV , go shopping, have manicure, facials, hairdos, pedicures and wait for the dreaded visit from the rich and powerful Ta every few days. Basically, their routine is to spend money in between spreading their legs, not a very tough job because , even with Cialis, these Ta Ta cannot really keep it up.

Like the official wives of the corrupt officials, these women would never go anywhere where there are many beggars.

The money they spend is used to pay the many women who work in all the beauty parlors, seamstress boutiques, etc and it's the employees in those places who go to places like Phsar Olympic and Phsar Toul Tompoung.

Some of these employees are kind-hearted because, secretly, some of them are hoping to be in the shoes of the kept mistresses and they think that by Tveu Bon giving money to these beggars, they may receive merit by attracting the attention of some rich man or a good man either in this or in a future life.

This is how some of the $700 million may filter all the way down to the beggar shown on the posted pic.
