A high-ranking opposition official is puzzled by Hun Sen’s speech when he discussed about land dispute issues with a group of foreign countries and organizations that are partners in the development of Cambodia.

Mrs Mu Sochua, SRP Secretary-general, said that she does not understand what Hun Sen meant in his discussion.

Nevertheless, Mu Sochua recognized that, more often than not, SRP activists have been charged when they try to help resolve land disputes.

Mu Sochua said: “For SRP, we never hide our role, in particular (the role fulfilled by) our (SRP) MPs, by Party President Sam Rainsy, in land disputes. We don’t have anything to hide, and we defend the people on the spot (of the land disputes). And quite often, when NGOs, (SRP) MPs, or SRP activists are helping the people against the authority, they are unfairly accused of inciting the people. These accusations do not benefit our country, in particular, it is a loss for the people who are victims (of these land disputes), and some communities also fell victim to these development (schemes) perpetrated by companies owned by group of people involved with government officials. In these (development) areas, the problems that exist are not created by any political parties.”

During his speech about the main factors involving the government development policy related to land disputes, Hun Sen told the audience that: “…in the past, there were several movements involved in this activity with the backing of politicians or ‘bad people’ who pushed people to grab state lands or lands belonging to others. They used the slogan ‘success will get land, failure will get money’ (to incite people to grab lands), and in some areas, they even use my pictures to present them as Samdech Hun Sen’s development zones …”

You must be an idot if you are fully believing in Hun sen promises and speeches. He has treated all international communities as ignorance and stupid to take all his promises. He used Cambodian poverty for his own family to increase wealth and power.
