The ministry of information (MoInf) issued a directive on 20 July to Sar Kheng, vice-prime minister and minister of interior (MoI), the council of ministers, and the departments of information in all provinces and municipalities to confiscate all CDs and VCDs showing graphic pictures of the plane carrying Korean tourists which crashed in Kampot province, and VCDs showing traffic accidents in Vietnam. Uk Prathna, MoInf secretary of state, signed the directive which requests all institutions to confiscate these CDs and VCDs and not allowing them to be sold in markets. He said that the sale of such VCDs showing dead people is a violation of the press code, and that it is a bad thing to show the public the plane accident. Khieu Sopheak, MoI spokesman, said on Wednesday, that police are following this order and are currently confiscating these VCDs.

It is so lack of respect for the deaths(exploiting the deaths. It is embarassing to see how our people embracing this kind of behavior and see it as a normal thing to do.
