According to eyewitnesses who were at the incident location, a Land Cruiser SUV carrying no less than 6 passengers arrived at the Heng Yaya restaurant. The eyewitnesses said that these restaurant patrons were all sons of powerful officials, after their eating and drinking, they had a dispute with the restaurant owner, and they pulled a hand gun which they used to shot three rounds: 2 shots to the ground, and 1 shot in the air, and they started to shout and made a lot of noise because they were all very drunk. When these young patrons started pulling the gun out to shoot, restaurant servers and owner were fleeing the scene for about 15 minutes and later military police officers (PM) from the province of Kampot arrived on the scene. It is noted that the shooting incident occurred at the same time that there is a replacement of police chief also.
When the provincial PM arrived at the door of the Heng Yaya restaurant, the 2-truckloads of PM did not go inside the restaurant right away because the door was locked. At that time, they saw two persons climbing the fence through the back to the restaurant and the pair was able to flee safely, other people found at the restaurant were arrested. No one knew how the PM work because they authorized everyone arrested to return home. According to a questioning to the restaurant owner by phone regarding this hooting, the woman owner claimed that the shooting stems from drunkenness and the young patrons mistakenly fired that was why the shot rang in full daylight like this.
Another source indicated that the sons of the powerful officials were somewhat drunk already when they arrived in the restaurant. The same source indicated that the group owed money to the restaurant owner from before, and that maybe the shooting took place when the owner asked for the money back, but the owner said that there is no problem, the youngsters were drunk and they mistakenly fired the gun. On this issue, the police is investigating to find out the shooter, but up to now, the police visit to the incident location is nothing more than what an old adage claims: “when the cat eats the fish, they all go after the cat to hit it, but when the tiger eats the cow, no one even dare cough.”
A lot of local people know about this issue, court officials and the Sovann Sakor village deputy chief also know about this, and if this situation is not stopped now, it will come back again and again. There is no need to talk much about criminal acts, just using the gun (to shoot in public) is already illegal, but so far no one is charged. This is how our country is, there’s nothing to be puzzled about!

GOOD EXAMPLE OF A "ROTTEN APPLE" AND THE APPLE DOESN'T FALL TO FAR FROM THE TREE.
AND ONE,
"HIGH OFFICIAL" IN NAMES,BUT NO CLASS IN REALITY, NO CHARACTER IN LIFE.
THIS IS THE HIGH OFFICIAL OF CAMBODIA NOWADAY. ( HOW SAD IT IS )
I FEEL FOR YOU ALL KHMER PEOPLE OF CAMBODIA
This fools may be powerful sons or daugther of the gov't..but they are one broke individuals!can't pay thier bills
It was happened during Lon Nol Regime. It also had been occurred in KPNLF controlled border Camps. It is now being happened now in Cambodia. AND it is in USA among KHMER YOUTH GANGs.
These are KHMER ANGKOR AND BEYON ATTITUDES. NOT A SURPRISED NEWS.
I treat these powerfull sons as Chon Derachhan. Their parents were Chon Anthepeals who have earned tehir living from illegal actvities and corruption. Therefore, they cannot produced good children. with their bad up bringing, these Chon Derachhanns have more chance to end up their lives with death before maturity or in jail.
Now what will HUN SEN says? He said no matter what those committ any act of violents should be response. COME ON HUN SEN arrest them and jail them. If this thing keep goes on there will be a copy-cat. Don't let these fools set an example to others.
....those kids were growing up in
violence society. They didn't see any wrong ....cuz it's impunity society where is ruling by Evil Authority,CPP.
I guess they didn't find the gun, and arrest whoever had the gun? You can't carry guns in puplic. Why don't those khmer kids who got sent back to Cambodia act tough and go against the officials' kids?
It has been always happened in Cambodia. Like the nephew of Hun Sen who shooted men in a public but finally, he is free of charge and live abroad. Where is the justice for the innocent people? The powerfull men can do eveything what they want. So we are not suprise to hear this story.
Those kids were on dope and so did their parents. Those high officials were official crap and Khmer's trash. Zero respect for those crapy people. That makes us want to spit in their faces.
Lock him up! If the father refuses; lock him too mother fucker. Enough of your injustice!
