A new attraction will be added to Cambodia's famous World Heritage site Angkor Wat: a light & sound extravaganza.
The grand show, dubbed "The Legend of Angkor Wat: When History Comes to Life", will feature over 150 stage performers, a 12x30-metre waterscreen and a variety of special effects. Designed to give audience a more vivid picture of the past glory of the ancient Khmer Kingdom as well as the beliefs and lifestyles of its people, the show will take place daily from November 24 to January 20, 2008, on the lawns behind Angkor Wat (its east side).
According to Bayon CM Organizer, a Cambodian-Thai joint venture that runs the show, there will be no use of explosives for special effects as that can harm the World Heritage site. The performace, both its content and operation, has reportedly been approved by Apsara Authority, the agency that oversees the protection and management of Angkor and other historical sites in Siem Reap.
Tickets for the one-hour show are priced at US$60 and 80 - the latter, if it's not for the front-row seats, will include an international buffet dinner at 7pm, an hour before the show starts.
This particular show will also be included in tour packages offered by Diethelm Travel and its partner hotels such as the Angkor Palace Resort & Spa and Le Meridien Angkor.

How stupid can people get when they have something very valuable in their hand and they don't even know what to do with it and they waited for the enemy to come in and start telling them (a mother fucker like you what to do)! Khmer is not determined by word, skin race or face, but by head. Some chinese face-look-like people are really khmer coz they love their countries than those khmer face-look people. Now cambodia is in peace. we dont demand you oversea khmers to come back here and work for 30 40$..etc. We know you are richer there, so please contribute your saving to invest in Cambodia to provide job and economic growth opprotunity in Cambodia. In Vietnam, many american vietnameses return back home to build hotels and resorts.
If those foreigners (thai and vietnamese, korean chinese..etc) can make business in Cambodia with huge profit, why you american khmer cant compete with them?

I went back for a visit a year ago, corruption started at Pochentong airport. On my return, it ended where it started, Pochentong airport. Is this the right environment?
My brother-in-law had his land taken by his childhood friend who hardly read or write khmer then became the Colonel of the Royal Arm Force by way of marrying the daughter of a General in Phnom Penh.
In the past I had done some goodwill works, not a penny gained from it, and learned quite a bit too. We have a problems. I walked away from doing anything anymore. I felt bad, not for myself but for those who need help.
Hope all of you insiders clean up the messes to create good environment and promote incentive/encouragement for such things to happen. It has to start from bottom up and inside out. You can't build a castle on a sandy soil.

Please don't confuse about the foreigners way of dealing with Cambodia! The foreigners used their government to deal with Cambodia which has more clout than any Cambodian from oversea!
The Cambodian government never views Cambodian oversea as an asset but as something to be used and prey upon for their benefit!
Please , youn or thai we are all the same people. Just different nations . different house. they are our neighbour. We should be friendly and live together in peace!! by what you doing .. it's not gonna help anything! we cannot change the pass or bring back the death! Please, khmer let go of the past! focus on future of the nation. love your neighbours WE are all Khmer here! and of cuz you all are an asset to the nation.
Khmer people don't need to give more ground to the Thaicong and the Vietcong! Khmer people should never and ever allow themselves to let go of who they are as a human with dignity and they must be vigilant at all time of their neighbors’ evil intention!
Cambodia as a country has an option to deal with their evil warmongers blood thirsty neighbors individually according to international law!
This is not a good time to preach peace and adopting Buddhist mentality to appease Cambodian belligerent neighbors and Khmer people must stand strong and look far into the future unless they want to repeat the same fucken sad history and continue to play the role of a victim!
By the way only weak and hopeless people would allow themselves to let go in life! Now you know why some people became addicted to alcohol, smoking, and gambling and drug…because they let themselves go and allow the situation or problem to control their life!
