According to Cambodia's Statistics and Tourism Information Department, almost 40 percent of visitors to the kingdom so far this year arrived through Siem Reap International Airport. Of course, the majority of them are tourists dying to see King Suryavarman II's architectural masterpiece, the Angkor Wat.
Yes, there are also hardy travellers who enter Cambodia and reach Siem Reap by land, and those who fly into the country via Phnom Penh and end up in Siem Reap anyway. Once you're in Cambodia, it would be unreasonable not to visit Angkor Wat.
Featured on Cambodia's national flag, Angkor Wat is therefore not just the source of national pride. It's also the nation's major source of tourism income.
But Siem Reap does have more to offer than just the Angkor Wat and other ancient Khmer temples of Angkor Thom a few kilometres further north. The town, one of the safest in Cambodia, has several places you can wander around and enjoy learning about the local people's way of life.
Note: Restoration work is now in progress on the front side of Angkor Wat; hence the green 'bandages' on some of the temple's towers.

All true Khmer Compatriots, ladies and gentlemen,
Except in India, who can build the magnficent temple like that? China? Thai? or YUONS?
So please all true Khmers stand up and united to liberate our glorious civilisations from YUON's occupation and China influence as soon as possible.
Who can lead the people power revolution in Cambodia?
