Cambodia rank almost last ! How about the UN? Why Michelle Lee has been chosen to the KRT? Is it corruption? Or maybe the UN doesn't take the killing field seriously? UN know exactly that this Michelle **Puppet** Lee will retire soon... Do they want that Hun Sen create a new killing field ?

More than 80% of country corrupt. Forget about ranking. corruption is corruption, doesnot matter how much is corruption!

UN is permanent slave of USA. Why the UN let 2 millions Cambodian died hard during 1975-1979. Where the hell was UN???

Then, why when the war end, UN is entering Cambodian to act as a justice for died cambodian. UN has to answer this! Angelina Jolie should be HEAD of UN as she knows when to help people.

Okay, this type of relative measurement have some usefulness for us but not all that much. The problem is they don't tell us how much does the best or first ranked lost in corruption/capita every year or something like that, not even the last ranked. Now if the different, between the two extreme end is narrow, there is nothing to worry about....

On the other hand, this information had been useful to me in the past because I've used it to learn about corruption. And I have concluded that corruption is generally caused by poverty, with an insignificant exception. This is consistent with the fact that there is no poor country ranked in the top 10 or even top 50. Have there been some, then I would be critical of the government about this, but I have not seen such a miracle existed in the past 5 years or so that I have monitored this data.

Accordingly, it is obvious, that to lower corruption, we must get out of poverty. And that mean continue to maintain the good economic growth rate a while longer and use some of the revenue to continue to fight corruption, and don't worry too much about this data.

Also, because they take so little amount of samples (typically 4-10) and different number of samples between each country, this effected the accuracy of the data. A few years ago, I have found Laos ranked 78, now they felt to 168(?) That is how much the error could be by not having enough sample and not keeping the measurement consistent throughout each country.

In summary, this data could be useful for scientific study about corruption, but it is not accurate enough to execute anyone over it.

I don't agree with their data. I'm sure if they weight by amount of corrupted money then the poor country may be on top of them as they do not have much money to take corruption. Where developed countries, their corruption is large scale (1 billions or more a year) then they should be ranked at bottom, not Cambodia.

I think depend on researchers who set their target. Scientist also found setting up their experiments.

One good example, when they want to list the top 10 World Wonder in 2007 by asking people to vote online or telephone. This is completely wrong experiment as popuation of each countries are not equal and also access to internet and phone are not equal too.

Yes, very good, 3:20, I agree with you. I have the same idea as you have: the fair way to measure corruption is to first rank the country by their income. I have done this also. I remembered UK being the 12th richest, and their corruption is also 12th. What this mean is the UK is not corrupted. They used their budget properly. That is we ignore the possible error generated from the low sample ...

On the other hand, I remembered the US is the 4th richest country, but their corruption ranking is 17th, and that is not good news. What this say is the US money is not fighting corruption effectively, They should try to get the corruption ranking equals to their income ranking, but then again, the US maybe okay, if we allowed the margin of error from the small samples that are being used.

BTW, did anyone noticed on the map that Canada is in yellow and the US is in Orange. Can you explain this phenomena to me?
