UN officials from the Khmer Rouge tribunal said Tuesday they will not to meet former king Norodom Sihanouk at the Royal Palace next week, citing his open invitation as unofficial.
In a cautious response to VOA Khmer's e-mailed questions, tribunal international spokesman Peter Foster said he would not respond to the Sihanouk's invitation, which was posted on the former monarch's Web site last week.
Sihanouk post-scripted the invitation with a warning that this would be the only chance ahead of Khmer Rouge trials to meet with him.
Parliament has bestowed honorary king status to Sihanouk, which government officials say grants him immunity against the tribunal.
Legal experts, however, say the honorary status does not protect the king constitutionally.

Strenghtening social justice is to unite people together. Cambodian people are fightingto each other at all level at present because of lacking of social justice. Therefore bring Fomer King Sihanouk to Khmer Trial is a sign to heal Khmer Problems and will unite all People in one law for all. Bring Sihanouk to the trial doesn't mean ANTI-Sihanouk but is indeed to clear his name from the real Killer. Those who protect Sihanouk from the Trial are the one who are Real Killers. Hope the King will tell the whole world what China, Vietnam, US and Soviet did, mainly Viet Minh and Viet Cong.
But PM Hun Sen is the leader, he will shut down the KRT.
Yiek Nam won't be brave to tell the truth, Yiek Nam were among the KR because they created KR.
ANTI-SIHANOUK AGAINST PRO-SIHANOUK.
The PRO-SIHANOUK WILL FIGHT BACK.
This new killing cannot blame Sihanouk, but blame the ANTI-SIHANOUK.
There is now a process of law, why do we need to fight. If you call people who need to find the truth and justice anti-Sihanouk, can they then call those who oppose the process pro-genocide?
Good job Mr. Foster. Keep cool and use your professionalism to show these rambunctious, twisted-mind people how proper judicial precedures are carried out.

To have a true and lasting peace for Cambodia these cancers have to be removed once for all, either by the law of ECCC-KRT or by any means, as long as the majority of true Khmers are agree with.
If these cancers remain inside Cambodia without proper treatments YUONS will continue to swallow us bit by bit every day and China will gobble the whole region without mercy toward Cambodia land and all Khmer people, with the last assistance of NORODOM SIHANOUK-HUN SEN.

PSYCHOPATH SHUT UP. GO MEET YUMBAL AND DO FARM WITH YUMBAL.
It's good that ECCC stands firm with Sihanouk. This request of Sihanouk to stand trial is to show that if the king can be summoned to stand trial in the court. Nobody under Sihanouk is safe like Hun Sen. No body is above the law. Hun Sen practices himself for 27 years above the law and no rule of law in Cambodia. Hun Sen uses the law of the juggle. Every time he speaks up, I hardly understand what this uneducated people says. Still a small percentage of Khmer people living abroad and inside the country support this Hanoi puppet regime because they themselves have a small and uneducated brain.
They believe Hun Sen is a good leader and Sihanouk is the best of all. But to me both of them are traitors. ONE WORKS FOR CHINA INTEREST AND THE OTHER WORKS FOR HANOI INTEREST.
IT'S TIME TO SWITCH SIDE, ONE WHO WORKS FOR US INTEREST. ONLY USA FINDS DEMOCRACY FOR THE WORLD.
PM Hun Sen will stay until he is 90 years old. Don't come to our country we'll put you in prey sar, trouble makers.

It unbelieveable that at this day and age ,there are some people who still love to lut krap krorm laang thouli preah bat(lower their head under the dust from sdach's feet), what can i say.Yes, enjoy it you ass licker.To the KR court official, don't bother to meet that old fart, just let him die with guilt.The whole world knew he was a khmer rouge's associate.
