A deputy provincial governor of the Preah Vihear province was arrested by military police on 14 November 2007. He is accused of involvement in the grabbing of state forest lands. A local newspaper reported that Meas Savoeun, the deputy provincial governor of Preah Vihear province, was arrested at his office and sent to Phnom Penh on that same day. According to the newspaper, the arrest of Meas Savoeun stems from his involvement in the grabbing of 3 areas of state forest lands, and setting himself up as a middleman in the land transaction. This arrest serves a warning to other individuals who are currently illegally grabbing state lands, in particular those powerful officials.

Nohting wrong about stoping landgrabbing, but do it based on land law, not based personal feeling of ah akvack chkae youn Hun Xen. otherwise, it is nothing more than a land grabber grabs land from other land grabber.

As for natural resources, we'll need it to get out of poverty. We can't do it for free. It will take forever. That is why we have explorers from all over the world searching for it, and I hope we will find something valuable that worthed trillions of dollars.

Pff he got arrested not because of land grabbing, he got arrested because he did not share the benefits from his land grabbing action! He thought no one would know because he is in Preah Vihear...
The law is there just to make sure that if you don't share the benefits from your illegal actions then the already-rich-and-powerful-corrupted leaders will make sure to use the law to nail you!
Ex: you are a Forest official, it's OK to cut trees and export to Vietnam but you better share otherwise since everybody know what you are doing, one day they will send the Police to settle score & you can be sure they will seize from your house all that dirty money to put in their bank accounts overseas.
When you read "only a few policmen are corrupted" this means "only a few policemen do not share their corruption money"
Ha ha ha, look what happened to Phnom Penh Police Chief!
Even better, they later declared that the thousands of $$$ they found in his house were counterfeit! What a nice way to pocket his money & then show to everyone a bunch of fake $$ so no one will ever ask what happened to the money...
These guys are really good.

Yes, you are right, 7:36. There is no such thing as getting rich alone in this world. You always mush shared your wealth, and bad thing will happened if you don't. Let's say you are making 10 millions dollar profit, for example. Right of the bat, you have to pay some taxes (or share it with the government), and you also have to pay your tax accountant, and of course you don't want to forget your agent that got you the deal, ... . Therefore, you see? It is the same everywhere.

5:22 AM but the difference is you pay to the corrupted fools, we pay tax to the state.

No, we pay tax to the State too. But no State on this planet ever seen 100% of their taxes, may be about 90% top.
