The organizers of the Brussels International Festival of Independent Film have decided to bestow each year, from now on, a “Lifetime Achievement Award,” an exceptional prize to pay tribute to a film director who dedicates a cinematographic achievement which is particularly original and distinguishing.
To inaugurate this new Prize, the 2007 “Lifetime Achievement Award” of the festival is bestowed upon Norodom Sihanouk, King-Father of Cambodia, the author of 80 short and long films. We recall that the Festival has already screened several films of the Director-King in 1995, 1996 and 1999.
This prize was given out during the presentation of the last film by Norodom Sihamoni, the new King of Cambodia at the Festival on Friday 09 November 2007.
For his entire films record which celebrates with fervor, the identity of the People of Cambodia, and constitutes a unique testimonial which goes hand in hand with the political message of an exceptional Statesman.

Hahahahhah Cambodia at ending of calling khmer hands Sihaknuk and his son still amuse with the festival movies award or RED CARPET ? This is the way that typical Sihaknuk is .two million Cambodian people lost their lives because his leading to mass of blood bath,but instead of finding the justice for them ,he is enjoying producing cd ,movies production hahahhahah no wonder why my beloved country people go in to the trap that we Cambodian can't find the exit.
