PHNOM PENH, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology has asked the public to take storm precautions as Typhoon Peipah, which has recently hit the Philippines, is expected to strike the Indochinese Peninsula in the next few days, local press reported on Tuesday.

Water Resources Minister Lim Kean Hor on Monday asked the Cambodian people to be vigilant against the storm which will bring heavy rain and strong winds to Cambodia over Nov. 8 to 10, reported Cambodian-language newspaper the Kampuchea Thmey.

Long Saravuth, director of the ministry's meteorology department, said that the storm would bring less rain, but heavy winds and cold weather.

Lim Kean Hor said that the storm would affect Preah Vihear, Ratanakiri, Mondulkiri, Stung Treng, Kompong Cham, Kandal, Svay Rieng, Takeo, Prey Veng, Kampot, Kompong Thom, and Pursat provinces.

He added that the typhoon began in the Pacific Ocean and then blew across the Philippines to the South China Sea.

Peipah left at least six people dead after landing at Luzon in the Philippines on Sunday.

I certainly like to see video animation, but I can't find one.

I doubt about the forecast. I believe it will turnt north-west in a couple days or it will head south west toward Malaysia, just scraping Vietnam, which is very rare.

hahaha, I was right as usual: the storm might not even going to make land fall but scrape the edge of Vietnam and soon to be dissipated and gone. The current wind at this time is only about 25 knot with gust up to 35.
