The Phnom Penh city hall is preparing to replace stop lights at 6 locations by the end of 2007, the new modern stop lights are part of the beautification of the city streets and also to alleviate the traffic. The Rasmei Kampuchea newspaper quoted Nhem Saran, director of the public works department of the city of Phnom Penh, saying that the old stop lights were temporary stop lights that Kep Chuktema, the city governor, ordered to install in order to ease up the traffic jam. Now, Kep Chuktema has ordered the replacements of these old stop lights with new modern ones. No one knows where these new stop lights will be installed though.

Stop light? I wonder how many people would obey the damn stop light if the fucken cops are too busy extorting money from dirt poor Cambodian people!
Oh well! Let just hope it reduce accident and traffic congestion!
No need to panic, people will ultimately learn to obey traffic on their own. You don't need to waste so much tax money on them. I would spend it on rural development instead.
